I've recently bought an 1979 rx 7 problem is that the hood is from an 85 i believe so i was wondering if anyone out there had this rod on there car and if i can get a picture of where its attached on the hood so i can add the necessary part to make it more like it was from the factory. Thank you for your time.

 

the right side prop is mounted to the underside of the hood. left side is mounded in a hole just above the coils.

 

Also on the left hand prop, there is a square hole in the rail that the hood prop stay goes. This square hole is missing on the 1979 versions with the passenger side prop.

 

Off topic , That weatherstripping missing on so many cars but it protects your electronics from water .
