12a HP

hey guys new to rotaries just wondering what kind of hp I would get out of my 12a if it had a mild street port done and got rid of all the pollution crap and put on a exhaust header. 150? Maybe? Just curious

Whp or bhp ? You don't need a port to get 150+ bhp, just good exhaust, more fuel/air and better ignition. The mods in my sig get me ~134 whp.

Start with the exhaust, then move to the intake and then do the ignition. It doesn't hurt to swap in electric fans, add lightness where possible like the flywheel (makes it more zippy).

The premier exhaust setup is the RacingBeat Streetport header/exhust/muffler combo. A true dual tuned exhaust all the way back to the axle. It may cost but it will outlast you or your car. For intake you can modify the nikki, or use the weber IDA or Dell 48 with the wrap around intake. Weber will yield max performancem, the Dell will deliver similar performance but better low end drivability and torque. The ignition you want to go with a DFIS setup. Search on here, lots of threads on how-to do it.

You'll need to port it to get 150 RWHP, which is getting to the upper HP with a streetport, with all the peripheral setup.

If you're cracking the engine open, might as well port it, especially if you plan to upgrade the intake and exhaust.

Just my $.02

Look into 74 spec ports. They are the perfect port for the street.

I'm definitely going to be cracking the engine open it's locked up tighter than hell from sitting for 22yrs just wasn't sure weather to rebuild stock or mod it alittle.

Did you try adding some oil into the plug holes and intake/exhaust ports and letting it sit for a bit? Then try rocking it back and forth with with a socket on the front eshaft. It may not be siezed, just stiff from sitting.

Once you get it to turn you can visually inspect the apex seals from the exhaust ports at that point.

I did try putting oil in the plug holes and down carb for the intake side but have not pulled the exhaust manifold off yet to put oil in there.

I have upgraded to RB SP system, nice little pump in response. After months of waiting; the "fat nikki" goes on with upgraded fuel system goes in tomorrow.

In future after that, will upgrade the ignition system.

So far the advice given by the rotary gurus on page have help me make my 7 stronger.

So looking forward to hearing about your successes with your 7. Once you get it freed up, you will be surprised how much a good tune-up will make the car perform.
