1/4 mile time
1/4 mile time
Well, I hooked my G-Timer up and did 2 runs. The better of the two times was a 1/4 mile time of 15.4. I don't know if I should be happy or disappointed in that. I never really practiced before, but I'm a fairly good driver and don't think I will get considerably better with practice. The only mod I don't have any more in my sig is the 2nd gen DFIS. I went back to stock. I have my timing set 7.5 degrees advanced on both sides. Maybe I need to experiment on that a bit.

Stock specs are between 16-17 seconds for an SE, so on the high side you shaved over a second with just relatively minor intake and exhaust mods. Are you using a stock or aftermarket suspension? How about tires? Those will make a huge difference.
Suspension is stock, and the tires are 235/35/18's.
Yeah, I've seem 1/4 miles times as high as 16.4 for a stock SE and as low as 15.7 on the Mazda.com website. I think I can creep into the 14's, since I am bogging a bit after I let the clutch out to avoid spinning. Once I find a happy medium, I think I can get into the high 14's. I will be pretty happy with that. My next investment will not be porting or turbo charging, but instead, I am going with an Electromotive EMS, since I believe that there is more to be gained in tuning.
