An 85 SA?

 

They never got the FB chassis code so all 1st Gens out side of the united states are reffered to as SA's and he is in Austarlia.

 

Even though it was a really bad run but meh ... lets add it on. First time ever drag racing, slipping clutch, missed 3rd gear also.

I've run a 15.421 @ 90.6 mph. Our 12a is topped with a weber 48IDA, backed with RB 4.44 gears in a SE diff.

I have a S5 TII engine w/stock ports and S5 Turbo... runing S5 TII ECU, 8psi of boost
Mods are K&N, ported wg, 3" DP to 3" Borla mid pipe and magnaflow muffler.

O.K. here's a few more details on my engine mods if you want to update them at all:

-13bt conversion.
-S5 housings
-S4 rotors
-S6 stationary gears
-2mm seals
-12at front cover
-S5 custom highflow turbo -specs 59mm front wheel with cropped rear on S5 manifold.
-Microtech LTX8 computer with coils and DASH unit inside the car.
-Custom EFI injection setup with hat and stainless steel piping
-880cc and 1700cc injectors
-PWR alloy oil cooler, intercooler, and radiator.
-Turbosmart type 2 BOV
-EBOOST with 3 boost settings set up on 10/14/18psi
-S4 turbo gearbox
-Custom brass button clutch and lightened flywheel
-Short shift kit
-Custom 3’’ mandrel bent exhaust, 3’’ highflow cat with one stainless steel magnaflow muffler and 4’’ dump.
-Running a 9 inch diff with 4.3 ratio LSD and 31 spline Billet axles.

Car has been dyno’d and made 318rwhp on 16.5psi
Has run a 11.45 @ 117.73mph on MTslicks with 1.52 60'er

Directfreak, geez, with that mph and et(12.440 @ 127.29), you must have been a ball of smoke all the way down the track! I've seen a GN pull a 10.9 at 123!

 

Hey can anyone help me out i like 1st gen rx7 but i dont know what year and what class of rx7 to look in to to start off with

 

reading the first gen FAQ page will help alot with that answer ... if you plan on racing with it, picking a GSL model especially the 84-85 style since it has the beefier rear end and a few more things are available for that thanks to Billy at REspeed. Also good thing about those is that you get disk brakes all around. The GSL-SE is another one to look for. Although a bit more rare since it had the 13b engine which boost about 30hp extra ontop of the 12a, and having bigger brakes along with a better bolt pattern (4x114.3 as oppose to the weird pattern that most of the rest of us are stuck with 4x110 ... ya don't ask ) anyways this is just a very brief intro .. but reading the FAQ should be your next on the to do list before shooting any questions.

@ CA Speedway. That was my last run with the socal crew. Could have been faster but I couldnt launch hard due to busted lug nuts in both rear tires (had to rig it to pass tech inspection). My time was posted @ west forum years ago but that thread has been deleted.

Forgot what i did with my '85 (stock 12A), I remember I got a 15.7 out of it before I put a ported intake manifold on, or put the straight exhaust on, or put the gears in it... I stopped drag racing when I started rallycrossing.
