Good #s Sam, congratulations. Did you try leaning it out just a hair at the top end, there might be a little hp left to gain if you can get it closer to 14:1, but you really need an egt gauge to be safe. Hopefully the shell is going in the shop next week.

alright finally got it up ... sorry for the camera movement i just had to block my ears off and resulted in that.

Now some info that I posted in my other thread, playing with the timing got us around 15HP increase. My dizzy advance and retard aren't hooked up but I am running a 10 degree advance on my leading.

Also the run was made in 4th gear and we went 122mph on that run

Thanks Trochoid,

Yes I have to get that done ... but apperently need to buy a special plate to put inbetween the floats and the carb to adjust that better ( the plate takes holley jets and is made by AEM I think) to be honest I alreayd spent more money today than I wanted to I spent about 300$CA because i had to do about 10 runs. I did quite a bit of experimenting with the air cleaners and stuff ... found out that the K&N velocity sub stack or whatever it was called lost me about 5Hp cause it was creating more turbulance than anything from the looks of it. Also playing around with the timing we had to do 4 runs with that to get it basically right on.

Yes I agree, nice numbers. Only way I can see to lean it up high a little without screwing up the midrange/bottom end is to tighten up the airbleeds, mainly the secondaries IMHO. Tough to do on a Holley 4160 as they're pressed in. A little fuel pressure tweak might do it, or a float adjustment but that might hurt you lower down in the RPM's. Anyone got a better idea on how to accomplish this?

That would only alow you to change the secondary fuel jets. It might work, Im not sure how much they are opening on the Holley. Also I'm not sure of any other mods RB does to the secondary metering plate, if any. If they do, you'll lose that when you replace it with the new metering block.

what really funny that i find is this one guy that I met somehow that I can't remember on msn, has a SP engine with a holley 650, stock intake mani, RB exhaust he's been to the dyno a couple of times now and all he can squeeze out is 109.53 RWHP and 95.81 FT-lb. Before i did my dyno he was saying that Iwouldn't score more than him because of his car setup. This is his dyno sheet. I really don't know what he's doing wrong but something is really messed up on his car.

I don't know ... i was just happy to slap him in the face with it just because of how much he's been bragging about his car, he was starting to annoy me with it. Now he's coming up with excuses, and he's still trying to tell me that my engine is tuned wrong ... lol anyhow just happy to get him off my back for a while.

I'm actually very pleased with them and worth every penny. If you pull up my old thread about them it shows more pictures and show how I bought that and did my back end for basically the price of a RB SP system but far more freeflowing than it. The headers like to glow red alot in the high RPMS as we noticed today while dyno tuning. hehe. Also if you do go that route, have him install you that O2 bung for an extra few bucks, like this the dyno guys will like you alot more and you can install a wide band later on if you'd like too.

very respectable dyno #'s for a n/a 12a streetport.. it could make a little more power on the top end from looking at the dynocharts but it will be very reliable where it is now.. .. great thread! and good job!!

Thanks ... I will be researching on that stuff, i might go with side float instead of the center pivot .. from there i will have to determine what to do.

Just a question about dyno cooling ... did anyone find that they had to take their hood off for dyno? Just because with the fan trying to blow under the car didn't seem it was enough. I decided to take my hood off when i started seeing the engine temperature slightly rising above half. and from there it stayed below the half mark. This is my I need a vented hood and would like to make a vented scooped/venter piece that goes inbetween the headlights
