Ah ok thanks. So I guess you weren't kidding about the patience thing, you must have to go verrry slowly to avoid any waves or warps in the metal.

It's not so much going slow, one can tap hammer as fast as a spastic woodpecker can tap if they want. The trick is to take it in very small increments and overlap each tap from the last one. With practice, it takes more time to make a single arc cut than it takes to tap the flange to the point of seam sealer.
