the guy also claims he owns a 93' FD LS1 turbo that makes 650rwhp that he recently just sold it... I've never heard of anyone here or on norotor or anywhere else that has a 650rwhp LS1 turbo FD... I call it B.s.

there are 900+hp turbo ls1 fd's
That fd you're looking at would be worth 15k if it was in nice original shape, it's not.

That's an $11-13k fd if it's nice and clean.

Doesnt look like a $20,000 FD to me. Do you know what mileage, transmission and what model it is? Kinda looks like a touring/PEP but its hard to tell from the crappy pictures. Just by judging from the pictures alone, I'd say its a $12-13k FD. I'd also ask who did the engine and call that place up to verify what was done and when it was done. Legit receipts can help the value of the car and are good for your peace of mind.

Can't speak for everyone, but IMHO the trick doors are a deduct to the value, when he's trying to play up the car's rarity. Rare builds are only more valuable when they are kept original.

His choice of pix are odd; no engine or interior pics, but he posted one with a fender removed?

MOS DEF not 20k. Lambo doors are kinda tacky too.. i agree, somewhere within the 10-14k, depending on engine condition. Paint looks good tho!

the car is not even original anymore. Paint is different... So it can't be any rarer then just a 93' VR.

There are several turboed LSX FD's in the bay area alone. Actually the first one ever was in the bay area, not including hinsons race car.

Now onto this car. I know it very well as i helped put the motor in it.

Its a 95 #2XX. So its worth far more than a 93. There is a big difference in the cars between 93 and 94, and no, painting one doesn't change that fact. All the interior panels are worth nearly twice as much, the rear sub frame was built differently to be stronger as the 93 were found to be to weak and flimsy. The doors are built differently and have extra crash support on the inside so when you close the door they don't sound like a tin can like 93's do. I will never buy a 93 again.

Its also good to remember that 95's blue book for A LOT more than 93's. My 95 still blue books right around 19k for bone stock.

But this guy hasn't owned the car very long and doesn't really hold onto his cars. He picked it up as a roller and payed a friend of mine to put in a low mile large street ported motor that we had. The lambo door hinges actually came off a 94 R2 I saved from a ricer a few years ago. He wanted them really bad so I just let him have them. Poor car. I will say this, the last time I saw this car the stock hinges were in the trunk and I could put them back to stock in a couple hours.

The engine is good with low miles and the twins are also in good shape ran none sequential.
They boost nicely to 14PSI. It has a apex power FC in it. The paint on the out side is a nice blue and looks pretty good but is a fairly cheap paint job. They painted over the rubber seal around the sunroof. The engine bay and jams are still montego blue.

Its a five speed that IIRC is in good condition. The exhaust is some crazy 4" JDM that we got off a car we parted couple years ago. Its only two pieces, down pipe and the rest.

The interior is the worst part of this car. Its a 95 so all the panels are black except for the seats and carpet which are tan. I would replace the seats and carpet with black but they need it anyway due to wear. Everything else needs to be cleaned and gone through very badly. Perhaps a new shift surround due to wear. My OCD was killing me being around this car. I go under mine and clean the powdercoated subframes and tranny mounts regularly.

Its a PEP model with a sunroof, just like mine (most 95's are). Touring is a 93 only thing. I did a 99spec conversion on the tail lights as well. This cars body has over 100k miles but I cant remember exactly how many.

I would put this car in the 14k area, but it could easily and quickly be fixed up to be in the 16-18k area if I had it. I am sure he listed it hi due to all the lowballers on craigslist.

Any other specific questions let me know. I have been around this car a lot but really only have a couple hours of hands on time with it.

Touring was available 93-94. I happen to own a 94 touring.

This cars body has over 100k miles
Losing value.....

$14k? Really? I've got a Bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

94's and 95's command higher prices since their interior is superior, but all of like $1,000 and not a penny more.
This thing would only pull $18k after dumping ten grand or better into parts and paint

If that car is worth 20k, Fritz Flynn has some swampland in Arizona he'd like to sell you.

I agreed with most of the earlier post. Mileage, lambo doors, stock,? def. will not sell for $20k., let along $16k. Sadly how FDs market is, even in perfect condition, I probably won't even pay $14k for this FD. The owner might as well just keep it...

I agree with you Bee, but you cant really go by and asking price on craigslist. I heard he had the car up for 15k but was tired of getting delusional (or mentally retarded) kids offering him 8-9k for it. So he upped the asking price to up the offers. I'm sure he would sell the car for FAR less then 20k

On the plus side, the low mile ported motor and turbos we put in it pull like a freight train. This car is really quick.

Barban - there where no tourings sold 94. The touring option was changed in 94 to a list of options known as PEG, popular equipment group. It was changed again in 95 to PEP, popular equipment package. Which is why most 93 tourings are all the same but the PEP/PEG's can have any combo of base, touring and R model parts. I have seen just about every combo on PEP/PEG cars because it was all optional from the factory. I had a chaste white 94 PEP that had a glass moon roof, no rear wiper a R2 wing black leather seats black carpet and dual oil coolers all from the factory. I've had owned several 94 PEP's over the years.

Casey is DEAD on about the models. Couldn't have said it any better. I also admire that very rare "BLACK 95".. hahaha... I'll be keeping an eye out for it if you ever decide to sell it.

You are both incorrect: http://alecto.bittwiddlers.com/vehic...-numbers.shtml
The only year in which touring was not available for US was model year '95.
Mazda did in fact merge PEP/PEG and Touring in 1994, but this affected only model year '95's and later. Hence the confusion, perhaps.
Consider that the build date of some '93s is actually in 1992. Always be mindful of the difference between calendar year and model year.

Special orders and owner modifications aside: if it's got a glass sunroof, a rear wiper, and the thin chin spoiler: it's a '94 touring.
Glad I could clear this up

Yeah, there is way to much weird stuff with these cars because everyone else got them a year before us. I have seen one with a build date of 12/91 but sold as a 93. My car has a build date of 12/95, didn't get into America until the summer of 96 and was first sold in 97. But is a 95 model even though it has all the gen II (96-98) brakes and ABS system. There seems to be no rhyme or reason sometimes.

As far as I'm concerned they are all the same anyway. Do you want a sunroof or not? Everything else can be added or deleted.
