T4 35r project results and 3 rotor tuning video
I finally got the car tuned last night. Ended up w/ 360 @ 13 lbs. and 420 @ 17lbs. The fuel pump wasnt holding pressure all the way on the high boost setting so I am going to get the rx7.com pump to compensate. This was done for pump gas (93) Afr's 10.8 on low boost and 11.2 @ high until the pump fell off a bit. Car feels good. Gaby Skern tuned in Orlando. My buddy got his 3-rotor t88 car done and made around 600 @ 15 and 831 @24 on c16. Here's the video of the race gas pull. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7ozT2pcLMw Thank you to all and especially Goodfella(rich) for all your help! G

Scrub, Jhnrx7 and myself are down in Daytona visiting Garrett for the 24 hour Rolex race. I just got a ride in the car and it's just what I expected. Spools fast, pulls great to redline. That open WG definitely scared the **** out of pedestrians
Props to Garrett for undertaking this project by himself in his garage...... we race every year on the highways around DGRR, and I'm thinking this year I may have a problem

Sounds great, 600whp is at 15psi, then making 231whp additional on 6psi more is hard for me to believe. Not saying it wasn't done, but I'd be willing to bet more like 30psi.
. However, I have seen crazy numbers on 20bs as in whp/psi.My buddy from PR got between 715-735@14psi (cant remember exactly) with a GT55r (91mm) and hit 118Xwhp mark @ 25-26psi...that is a jump of about 400-450whp on just 11-12psi or about 37-40whp per psi. Assuming this car gets like 25whp per psi that would be 225-270whp more with that 9psi jump from 15 to 24psi... so 825-870...
Oh, and the reason I assumed less whp per psi for this as opposed to my friends is because my friend has semi-peripheral ported housings operating with valves and a stepper motor so his psi = alot of air, that and the turbo he is using is considerably larger and more efficient at moving lots of air.
I'm just saying it could be possible.
Chris
p.s. BTW, I just noticed you wrote down 6psi, maybe you thought that was the jump in pressure, it was actually a jump of 9psi

Your friend was also using a GT55R which is twice the size of this turbo. Like I said Im not saying it wasn't done, but 6 psi more and 231whp is a bit much. Actually I just noticed the video says its 27psi which is a bit more realistic.

I see what you mean with the larger turbo...didn't know this was that small compared. This is a PT-88 so technically its like a GT4718R internally but the housings are smaller, hmmmm.
Do you mind if I ask what turbo you have in your 13b? Nice numbers.
Chris
The GTX4202R is 75.8mm, and the GTX4294R is 70.3mm. Did I miss something?

No worries on the thread jack. working on my new fuel pump w/ 10 gauge wire plumbed through the lid w/ grommets and sealant. Hopefully it fixes the pressure @ high rpm. G
