need some help on going single turbo
hey guys need some help on going single on my 93fd. okay just ordered a gt3574 ball bearing turbo kit from aspec tuning and a fuel kit from kg parts injectors fuel rail etc.Now this is what i have on the car already power fc,front mount, rad, greddy elbow, supra fuel pump, vacuum lines redone, greddy oil catch can, apexi blow off valve, exhaust mid/downpipe,greddy profec b bosst controller. What else do i need? i would like to see around 425-450.Still on stock motor b/c only have 38k on it and dont wana mess wit a street port yet.Want good and reliable power for the street.do i need oil coolers, pulleys, ast or what so confused and dont wana waste my money on things that wont make a difference or help the motor.Looking for some advice please help me out. Thanks so much
If you are looking for that kind of power on a stock ported motor, I think meth injection would be in order. A good wideband wouldn't hurt either. What kind on clutch do you have? The stock one won't last long. If you only have one oil cooler, a second would be recommended by many. Hope it helps. I ordered the same kit and am expecting delivery in a couple weeks. Good luck with the project.
You did not mention the ignition system. Some type of ign amp, and plugs like the NJK
R6725-9 through R6725-115, Mazda racing, fine wire platinum center and ground electrodes, 14mm, 21.5 mm/.846" reach,
13/16" hex, recessed tip, resistor, $32, .025" gap, the best for high power but idle may suffer, uses a normal socket.
I run 16 psi boost on street gas with mild ports and run these plugs ,
9 leading and 10 trailing. My turbo kit is the A-Spec GT35R 1.06 turbine T3.
My amp is the HKS Twin Power with a TII leading coil.

FYI, the GT3574 is NOT a ball bearing turbo. It is journal bearing. If it was ball bearing, it would be the 35R or 500R etc...
I have a GT3574 as well.
Good luck on your build

get a good tune, definitely get rid of the ast ( I still need too myself lol).
I wouldn't try running your stock motor on pump gas at the boost levels' you'll need to run with that turbo to get in the 450whp range.

Good info on the 3574R. I was not aware that A-spec was offering that turbo in the ball-bearing setup. So, I guess the OP got the 3574R vice the GT3574...
If at all possible have the car running/driving well before you tear your hands into it. Adding a bigger fuel system, bigger turbo, and more electronics can make things much worse. Take your time and while taking items off inspect them to give you an idea if other things need to be addressed while you're in the area. There's PLENTY of people that have posted their progress and problems. It would be most wise to read up and know what you're getting into and more importantly learn from their (our) lessons. Preventative maintenance saves A LOT of money!
you guys have been a big help thanks so much and yeah i did get a gt3574r not gt3574 my mistake i just want good power and want to try to save my motor b/c of the mileage i have but i will see what dave at kdr has in mind also.thanks again all of you
