Not good news for us rotary guys here. With the climate change crap going on in Copenhagen, don't expect any good news with the smog laws here. I just hope this crap doesn't screw us over like I think it will.

My rx is a clunker. Sorry fellas its true. Every fluid that it has leaks. When I start it it farts out a cloud of smoke. I got a buddy followin me when we get where were goin he complains about the stink of the thing. I got someone tailgatin me I rev up the r.p.m. stomp on the clutch and KABLOWE! THey think they have had a grenade thrown at em from the sound and smoke. When I need parts I go to the dollar store for duct tape for cryin out loud.

Let's see, save the earth or save your RX-7 that's smoking and spewing greenhouse gases like a Russian power plant? (Not specifically you Howco, but anybody whose car is in disrepair and smoking like a truck).

Duh, this is a no brainer dudes. Get a tune up and do your part, if not for yourselves for your children and grand children. It's what they think of Bush and Obama that will matter 50-100 years from now.

 

Good call. A tune up isn't difficult to do, nor is it expensive.

Speaking of, I need to rebuild my carb this winter. I averaged 18.5mpg last summer, with some tanks as low as 15. I do, however, have a consistently heavy foot...

 

If a "tune up" were all that was required, it'd be a no-brainer.

It took me months of work to get my (stock) car Cali smog legal. Including having to hand-fabricate parts either NLA or so expensive as to be out of my reach.

If saving the Earth were actually in question, it'd be a different story. But it's not. There aren't enough 20-plus year old cars left on the planet to make a bit of difference in the global environment, regardless of the condition of their engines, even if man-made global warming was a proven fact - - and it's not!

Human-caused Global Warming is an unproven assumption at best. In fact, the entire concept that the global temperature has actually increased significantly is now in doubt, as more and more is learned about the chicanery and outright fraud that the supposed experts in the field have engaged in, in pursuit of their ideological goals.

3,000+ posts here for you to read thru, sir, if you're interested in who I am... And none of them have me claiming that CforC was an end to RX-7's... closest I came was pointing it out as a colossal waste of money. Which it was.

"Fear Mongering" is exactly what's going on, though... fear that mankind is destroying the planet and we MUST... DO... SOMETHING...!!1!1

...even though there currently is no reliable proof that 1) there is significant warming beyond naturally-occurring variation currently going on, 2) that co2 is capable of, much less actually involved in, producing the supposed warming, or 3) that mankind's production of co2 is significant enough to cause the supposed results. Much less that we could correct it.

The pre-eminent scientists who were forwarding these claims have been caught out privately admitting that the computer models used to create the scary predictions cannot even account for current conditions. And also caught covering up this fact, and the fact that they tampered both with their data and the peer-review process in order to conceal this failure.

If the model can't account for current conditions, it's worthless for prediction. Q.E.D.

 

Climate change is total BS. This copenhagen thing is just a way for the algores to get filthy rich. The media is totally downplaying the leaked emails, as I expected they would.

Anyone listen to Alex Jones? He's been the a great source of info that makes sense out of all of this.

The climate is changing here in Georgia right now, it's raining again and getting colder than ****, very unpleasant outside.

I could use a little global warming right about now, think I'll go out and fire up the GSL.

Yea the planet is getting so warm that yesterday I went to check to see if the ******* machanic installed the dizzy right the vacum advance hoses shatterd in my hands like glass. Im in Colorado, its so damn hot out there I cant stay outside in that blistering sun for more than 15 minutes at a time.

Hey, Ray; i still remember the one winter I spent in Georgia (Augusta, at Ft Gordon; 1984 IIRC). It snowed. And apparently nobody there had snowplows.
