7 inches...seems high to me...should have a problem...
low profile floor jacks can cost a pretty penny.

My sears 3 ton floor jack just barely fits under...

If the jack doesn't quite make it under, just grab ahold of the sheetmetal in the wheel well and pull. You can create an extra 2 or 3 inches of clearance that way.

for me, it's not a matter of it not being low enough, it's that it's not long enough. The entire jack needs to fit under the car. I have to use a smaller, cheaper jack to use one of the side jackpoints, then I can fit the big floor jack underneth. But if you want a jack that will do it without any extra hassle, it's going to cost a lot of money ($600+)

Yeah, and those cheapo autozone floor jacks don't kick up high enough to slide a jackstand under.

I have the bigger (still only 2 1/2 ton I think) size of floorjack from Autozone. What is the brand, MVP or something like that? It was about $50. Fits perfectly under the car and I am able to use my large jackstands with it. I would recommend getting the smaller sized stands though. For me to get a jackstand up front I have to lift the car so high that the rear wheel on the same side comes off the ground a couple inches.

I just drive (well, push for now ) the front tires on to a chunk of 2x6. Gives plenty of clearance for a stadard floor jack.

I drive my car up on ramps first, then jack it up the rest of the way with my Sears 3 ton. After that, I place jack stands at the jack points listed in the shop manual.

Oh yeah, my jack fits under the rear of the car so I don't do anything special there.

I cut 4 2x4 blocks 8 inches wide(depending on tire size of course). I use 2 to chalk the back tires and use the other 2 to drive the front wheels on top. Then Iam able to get the regular hydro jack under neath it and its a piece of cake from then on.
