No start on 87 TurboII, need advice.....

Hey I have an 87 TII with intake, 2.5" downpipe, 3" midpipe, cat-back exhaust, and Walbro 255 fuel pump, and all of a sudden out of nowhere the car decided to refuse to start. It cranks perfectly normal, but shows no attempt at all to start. Checked all fuses and they're ok, the Walbro pump is only a couple months old so I don't think it's that, I have a fuel cut-off switch put in because the car would occasionally flood out when starting hot, and in the morning it would start on one-rotor at first, I used the fuel cut-off switch as an attempt to unflood it, but it didn't have any effect. Me and my Dad tried to push start it to see what was really going on, the first time we tried it sounded from the exhaust like it was building up compression, but then it would just die out. The second time we tried it, the car made one VERY loud backfire and then stopped, it seems like it is getting a spark, I'm not sure if it is getting fuel or not, but I think chances are likely that the engine just finally blew and it's not getting enough compression to make a start. Can anyone help me out here? I wanna try to see if there is anything I can do first before I bring it to a mechanic and spend a lot of cash trying to evaluate what's stopping it from starting. BTW, I tried to check the plugs, but my old mechanics put in the racing B10EV plugs, and my Dad said his spark plug wrench can't fit to take them off. Does anyone know what kind of tool I need to take those plugs off and where I can buy it??

Sounds to me like your not getting fuel. But if you want you can put a lil oil in the spark plug holes to build compression and then use some starting fluid in the intake. Should start right up if your getting fuel and spark.

i had the same problem with my n/a
it was a shot fuel pump. check and see how much psi the pump is pushing out

Thanks for the replies, but nobody answered my question on the B10EV plugs, I want to take them out and check them, but my father's spark plug wrench won't fit them correctly. What type of spark plug wrench do I need and where can I get one? Also, how would I go about putting the oil into the spark plug holes, and how much oil should I put into each one??

You can use a regular deep socket to get the plugs out. I dont remember the size but just go to a car parts store, get 1 plug and carry it over to the sockets and check. And for the oil put about a teaspoon in each rotor, and bump the starter to move it around. Best of luck

You need a special shallow wall socket to get those plugs out. Mazdatrix and Racing Beat sell 'em. Range of $60 - $70 for the same part, either way it's outrageous, but you won't have much luck any other way.

Does anyone know the correct size for the regular deep socket? The plugs are B10EV, I can't get them out to bring them to an auto parts store because I don't know the measurements. I really dont wanna spend $70 at Mazdatrix for a freakin socket. Can anyone help??

Can anyone help me with this?? Their has to be a socket I can buy at a hardware/autoparts store that will fit these plugs, I really don't want to spend $70 at Mazdatrix if I don't have to for a damn socket. I need to get these plugs out ASAP.

There are 2 standard socket sizes for spark plugs. 1 is 5/8, and I think the other is 3/4. Anyway it is the bigger of the two. I got my socket from Sears and it works great. I have an 87TII, and have had no problems taking plugs out with my Craftsman socket. Im pretty sure it isnt a thin wall socket either.
