First time I posted a video, hopefully it works out ok. Photobucket = seems to hurt the audio and video quality.

Badass. I don't care what you do, a 2 rotor will always sound like a big weedwacker.

Yea, it's a shame you don't know a thing about the history of the car. Next time you rescue a scrapped shell from the junkyard and spend over $20k turning it into a nice car, let me know. We can race. But be prepared to lose.

Your car is very nice, and I'm sure you put forth some crazy effort to get the car to where it is now. But it seems like you make these post and dont expect people to comment on the car being an ls1 in a negative way. I have seen a few threads recently you have made with similar comments from other members and you give the same reply you just did, its ok. The ls1 is bad *** and I definently respect what you did, but i still would love to see the rotary in there too. It is just an opinion.

If you have a negative opinion, that's fine. A simple "I don't like it" or "I wouldn't do that" or simply not posting would have been fine with me. Saying "what a shame" gives the impression that I took out a nice running motor and installed something else. That's not the case, and I like to make that clear to anyone who doesn't know. I do appreciate the positive points in your post, as well as the way you make a lucid point. It was much better thought out than "what a shame"

Says the guy who can't even spell "rotary"

If the rotary belongs in an RX7, then I guess you better give me the one from your SUZUKI so I can install it before Mr. Wankel turns over in his grave

hey suzukis did have rotorys to in motorcycles .and as for the spelling thing haha you got me .its a nice ride but I think a 20b would have been a better choice.and a rotory is wayyy better than my original 1.3 with 62 hp and better power to weight ratio for racing.so there is no need to pick on my spelling ,wipe the tears from your eyes and relize that not everyone likes a v8 rx7

not everyone likes a V8 RX-7 but they usually do like their RX-7 to at least HAVE low end torque

Wipe the tears from your eyes and realize my motor and transmission cost $4700 and the car weighs the same now as it did stock. Not possible with a 20B.

For real dude, I read another thread from the NE section and it's just back and forth arguing between those who are PRO LS1 conversions and those completely anti.

Just let it go man. You've got a beautiful car, you know the story with it, and you know how much time you spent making it the way it is now.

I'm not an LS1 FD guy, personally, but I'm also not completely against motor swaps. For those of you who like getting at people for making their own relatively unique decisions about THEIR car, didn't your mother's teach you anything? If you've got nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.

And Joey, bad *** garage. And the quality of that video sucks, but I'm sure that can be blamed on the hosted site. And the car sounds mean as hell. Nice work.

James

At least it keeps the thread near the top

I've been in on some of that, and for awhile now I've usually stayed out of it because I'm not trying to tell other people what to do and I realized I would get as bad as the other side if I didn't just shut up. Now I generally only comment if it's either either a thread I made like this one, or the person is being particularly stupid (someone like "ImprovedFD")

I actually don't take it personally when someone take a shot like that though. Hot Rodding has been around since before my grandfather's time, and people were doing engine swaps before Mazda or the rotary was invented. The thing that gets me is the lack of common sense. When skid pad and road course lap times, dynos, corner scales and experienced drivers all agree on an issue, to come in a say something like "what a shame" just makes the poster look uneducated. I'm just trying to help educate people!

Thanks for the comments. Photobucket sucks, but I've never posted a video up and I don't know if I can host them on my site or not. Plus my camera is a general purpose one not really designed to pick up the kind of sounds that car makes. I'm looking into a better camera setup so I can get some trackday info up - I plan on making some dragstrip passes as well as spending some time on a road course if I keep the car.

Yea, but I've only posted it here. I'm not actively "trying" to sell it. I just haven't had time to finish the last 10% or so of the project and it gets frustrating watching it sit and collect dust in the garage.

Unhappy

It looks & sounds nice have to give you a pat on the back for a nice looking ride. Now me personally i love the Rotary & cant really say i can appreciate it, It alwas seems to me like if i took a Mustang and put a 3 rotor motor in it or buying a Harley & putting a Jap bike motor in it. It's nice but fanatics of that particular ride will look down on me. That being said no hard feelings i just think i would have preferred some other Rotor motor in there something not piston. But thats just my opinion no offense to those who love the Frankenstein transformations, Rotaries have been put inot so many other cars so i guess what the hec

I understand your thoughts on it, honestly. But the point of using an LS1 is that it increases performance and reliability while not increasing weight. No rotary was going to do that.

That wouldn't happen if you put a rotary into a Mustang. Depending on year, the car weighs anywhere from 300-700lbs more than any RX7. Going 3-rotor would make it even heavier, and it still wouldn't get out of it's own way. As far as using a Japanese engine in a Harley, you're not going to improve on the torque a Harley motor makes with a japanese engine that would fit. And the bikes weigh so much you'd just slow it down.

It's not because I have a problem with rotaries. It's because it makes sense.
