1st oil change on rebuild Q

Ok...on a rebuild with atkins seals, is it absolutely necessary to change the oil at exactly 500 miles? I'm asking because I just hit the 500 mile mark and i'm about 100 miles from home. Will the extra 100 miles affect drastically anything?

Just change it when you get back...

Anywhere between 500 and 1000 miles is fine

LOL at all the replies!

Thanks guys for the answers!
Don't worry Ben...I wouldn't DREAM of taking my car (especially a fresh rebuild as precious as yours) to a jiffy lube engine pop-a-shop...
