I just want to make sure of what psi I can run on my setup once it's broken in. From what I've searched/read, 10 psi seems like my limit. This is my setup:

-Rebuilt, streetported motor (rotary resurrection)
-HKS downpipe, no cats, Apexi Dual N1 catback
-Stock S4 turbo, no twin scroll, ported wastegate
-Stock TID, K&N open conical filter, TB mod
-GReddy V-spec FMIC
-Walbro 255 pump, stock injectors
-GReddy profec B
-N338 'vert ECU

I'm going to wait on making a TID in effort to keep boost down, the Profec is not installed yet since I'm not sure how much boost the car will run without it (car will be ready this week for pick-up). Once available, I'd like to get the Rytek7 ECU stage 2 with 720cc's but for now I'm going to stick with the vert ECU and stock injectors. I know I have no FCD now as well...I thought about getting the Rytek7 stage 1.5 then upgrading later to the stage 2.

From what I have read, 10 psi is a safe max on this setup and should net about 220rwhp and is fairly common. Any thoughts?

 

A wideband AFR will tell you for sure.
The stock TID should keep you out of trouble for now.

Pay attention to the breakin limits.

Yep, I'm gonna follow rotary resurrections suggestions as he built the motor. I figure the stock TID, FMIC and walbro would keep me safe. I would absolutely LOVE to see 6 psi on the car with the ported wastegate but I think thats dreaming a bit.

 

Yeah, I ported my s4 turbo to about 22/23 mm and I see about 9psi, which it still runs rich throught the rpm range. I was guestimating I was running about 12-13 psi before. Its better, but maybe if I put the cat back on it will bring it down to about stock...

 

when I did that, i ran 5psi at first to make sure the tranny remained in the car hehe... a tranny swap is a good idea before you run too too too much boost... right now I have a T04 w 75mm wastegate (bought for $100 sucka) and i run 15psi right now (but i dont get on it too much or drive it daily)

 

I have a centerforce dual friction clutch and racing beat aluminum flywheel in the car, my installer said the clutch was in great shape. The NA tranny, without abuse, will take just under 300 lb ft before it's in trouble. This means no launching, drag racing or killer shifts.

 

you will hti fuel cut since you dotn have a FCD. so i would only think that you would be at like 6psi. when i ported my wastegate to 25mm i got 6psi. you should be around there.

 

Anyone else? They were finishing up the IC piping today, hopefully it starts up without any problems.
