My sister backed up my car with the door open (dumbass!!!) and she caught something and the door bent outward..so now there's a dent in my door, but im not worried about that as much as the problem im having!!

the door only opens about 6 inches!!!! and i tried opening it and i can see the front panel moving so i didn't touch it after this...how will i fix this?

I'll need to take out the front panel and then the door? I have a parts car rx7 and by the looks of it i think it's the metal hinge that is broken..how hard is this to fix? god damnit!!

 

it should be that hard to put a new door on...as I put one on by myself--but is easier with two!! Lining the door up straight it the tricky part and is time consuming!!
As far as fixing the current door it all depends on the damage and how it looks!!

 

damm HOMIE G!!.. noone helping you out cuz u a newbie but lets see.. how hot is ur sister?hehe just kidding. well if its the hinge then u have to remove soem mothafuc&&^ bolts that are probably pressed all up in there. go here www.fc3s.org and download the factory service manual its under HOW-TO an dunder manual. people call it the FSM. F for factory S for service and M for MANUAL.. haha im just stupid and my name is hans i get flamed the most in thsi tight forum! i never pull out hahHAHAHA

 

Hah the guy i bought my 87 gxl off of did the same thing to it....lol check the door mounts and make sure those arent bent , if they are you gotta pull the door, and then go get new mounts from your local wreckers. as for the door if you cant pull the dent out, just replace the door hah.

 

I THINK it's the mounts, but i can't really check because i can't open it wide enough to look. I don't mind driving with a dent till i can buy a door, i just want to open my door so i can get in!

what does the door mounts look like? I think it may be the 2 goldish thin metal pieces that are bent...but i dunno, any more help?

I did that in a trans am before. I was backing up and a girl opened the door to get out. Door caught a telephone pole. She was a fine *** cuban girl so I wasn't as pissed as most people would be. Her dad was really pissed. I swapped the door out with another. The door wouldn't open far enough to get in, so I had to leave it locked shut and go through the window like the Dukes of Hazard.

I would guess you might have to cut off the old old mounts and weld on new ones. Of course scribe were the old ones were.
