I don't think i have much of a chance...i do have a dp, cb, intake, and an act clutch...but i dunno if it'll be enough. I'm boosting 10 lbs on a stock ecu
he's just got an smg II m3...what do those things run?
what would be my best chance? off launch? freeway pull? 1st gear roll? i guess it's his 333 hp against my 300 or so (maybe, just a guesstimate)

I remember about a year or 2 ago reading a post about a FD with just a DP slightly pulling a E46 M3 from a number of rolls. When they started low, the M3 with the torque advantage would pull but the FD would eventually pass him. The SMG will hurt the M3 a little but not much. With equal drivers I think your FD has a slight advantage from a roll - not sure about from a dig - post the results..good luck and be careful
this chinese kid at my school has one.......
so he wanted to race the "fastest kid in school" so i told him that i only race on the highway.......i pulled on him in 3rd.....and i still am the "fastest kid in school"......but still those cars are very respected
dp, racing beat exhaust (dual tip)

I believe the smg is the manual/automatic M3, if so it tested about .3-.6 sec. slower than a 6-speed. His advantage is perfect shifts everytime and probably some form of traction control.
I think you'll take him if you can shift good and from what the others say about highway roll you should have him.

10 LBS OF BOOST!!!!! You're only good for mid to low 14's on the 1320 whereas the M3 is capable of doing mid to low 13's. You need to have at least 12 lbs of boost to go against this kind of a motor. The E46's are set up to have power all the way to redline... The 7's rely on boost... in any case it should be fun run... I know 'cause I own a 93' 7 and a 2002 M Coupe.
Good luck anyway.... and whatever happens, don't make excuses.

"ASSUMING" is the key word... and you have to drive the new M3's and M Coupe's to understand what I am talking about....
He has ~290 rwhp and weighs 3400 lbs..which means you will need about 240rhwp to keep up with him from a roll. With your mods at 10 psi you should be right there...maybe a bit more...so you should be about even with him.
Why does every wanna be internet engineer/kid think that these cars are slow?
Have any of you other than r_ed_line53, have any real world experience up against the M3?
They are NOT slow cars as you would like to assume they are.

Our cars blow because um...yeah.. haha
Good luck. BMWs pull pretty well on the freeway period. Whatever you do, don't try to race the M5 hehe. That thing can have an entire family and still smoke most cars out there.
Also, shouldn't this be moved to the kills section?

Let me tell you from personal experience. I think its possible for you to beat the M3 on a roll and from a stop. It just depends on if your a good driver or not. I personally raced an e46 M3 and beat it by 1 car length from a roll of 40-120 ( same setup as you but also with a MP). I ran my car with your same setup at the drags and ran 13.45 with 18's on(I'm not even that good at dragging). I hear new M3's stock are 13.3 . So from a stop you have to be pretty good at driving to compete with him. Overall, you have a chance and if you lose it shouldn't be by much if your setup is catback, dp, and intake. Good luck.
