So I bought an RX-2...ok well it at least sorta looks like one.
Its actually a 1972 Mazda 616 4 door. Same thing as an RX2 just piston powered.
I bought it from a guy who had a strange car collection and was selling everything off, VW Bettle, Triumph TR7, MGB ect.
The Mazda has 30,000 original miles on it and is VERY clean for a Canadian car.
Heres some pics:
The plan for it is to replace all the suspention parts and swap a rotary in it of course.
I have an original 74 RX-4 engine that runs great I'll be putting into it.
Just thought I'd share!

Great find! Noticed that it had a real vented hood. I know these were only available on the '71 model RX-2. Maybe your 616 is a 1971? What is the build date ?

I'll check the build date when I get it to the shop, I'll get some better pics too

Yeah I was browsing ebay and came across it...read the article and didn't think much of it. Then I noticed his location was a 15min drive from my shop! Figured I'd go check it out, then ended up buying it haha.
After I drove it, I couldnt walk away from it....so slow...but so much fun.
BTW the car is 13 years older than I am
