Need Savior for '73 RX-2
I am about to donate an aged but unbent 4-dr, 4-speed '73 RX-2 sedan (that's right an RX-2) to the
Volunteers of America as a scrap hunka junk. It ran when I parked it 5 years ago (injury) so the
roto-motor would need rebuilding. Have most of a second one in parts. The engine in the
doorstop/parker was handbuilt and streetported...not bridge-ported, and it would run the wheels off
anything else on the road. Have all maintenance history (second owner since new).
Can you tell me where to look before I hand this over for a tax writeoff to charity? It's a hell of a car
when it runs. And I think it would be again. But it needs someone versed in the vagaries of basic
roto-motor basics...this jewel still has the original double coil/double distributor arrangement and the
whole package has 238K miles (roughly). I guess I only added about 35K miles since I bought it
from my brother (the original owner) in 1985.
Would break my heart to see the car smashed for recycling if there's someone out there interested.
Can you tell me where I might offer this car? Thanks!

how much would you want for it? i would be interested in it. where are you located? i am guessing in canada from the context of your post. please reply to this or send me a priviate message. i wil be willing to pay for shipping as i have someone who does transport. you will mostlikely get more in cash than from a tax writeoff.

Man, those RX-2's are hotcakes.
A guy i know just sold his nice condition RX-2 for something like $13k.... the guy that bought it had enough cash on him to pay $20k for it!
