Bogging at 1/4 Throttle an Not Building Boost?

Well I have an 88 Turbo II an since I got it it's not been wantin to build boost as far as the gauge reads an when the gas is pressed passed 1/4 throttle it boggs as if trying to die out but does not just kinda backfire's like it's try'n but just can't seem to do anything! But I can rev it to 8 grand while hold the gas at 1/4 but it takes a while? If Anyone could please give me an idea or sumthin let me know! And Could the TPS be a problem because mine was siezed up an I'm currently getting a new one to see if that makes a difference!

Sounds like it could be grounding problems. Ever do a engine swap or so? If the harness has ever been removed for a swap, chances are the grounding connections need to be cleaned. What rpm does it start? If you had a wideband you could tell if you are going lean.

I have a 91 t2 and my check engine light is on because of the tps but ,I does not bogg and my boost is good.check the fuel pump, filter ,pressure and the boost control and also the turbo .you can also take the exsust off of the turbo because the cats can clog.

Sounds to me like something to do with the MAF but thats just speculation. I would check to make sure its connected properly and that there are no leaks arround it. That and now to think of it a boost sensor is what shows your boost pressure so check that as well.

Thanks I'll check my fuel pump because the guy that had the car b4 me put a new one in,but what should i look for because I can hear it kickin on pretty loud b4 starting the car! And he also put in a new filter as well! I'll check for clogged lines tho! And my turbo has no shaft play and spins freely and u can hear the bypass valve release pressure after pressing the gas after about 4 grand! . .just won't let me push the gas past 1/4 or it'll bogg! . .
