Change the bolt pattern on RX3 front brakes?

I want to get matching Weld draglites for my front of my 1972 RX3. I swapped a Ford 9 inch in back and used a ford bolt pattern, thus using Draglites on the back, but the bolt pattern on the front is wrong, and I need to change it. I dont want to redrill it, because I'd like to run bigger brakes, and the offset is wrong (the flange sticks out quite far). Is there a simple fix? Ive read you can slap 1st gen RX7 struts under there to lower it, would I just run the front hub off the RX7 too? I fear that the camber might go to crap when you use 1st gen RX7 struts? Is this correct? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Here is a pic of the car now with the draglites on the back and the stock wheels up front.

http://www.theracingstore.com/intakes.html Beatiful piece and well worth the money and it bolts straight onto the factor spindles. Comes complete with everything.

Wow, those kits are nice. I want the 12" for the fronts and 10.75" for the rears. I am curious on how the calipers attach though, at least when converting a rear drum system over to rear disc. Have you installed one on your car 13btnos? I'd want them for my RX-2.

Doc Holiday, what is your rear bolt pattern? I may have a solution for you.

Smeagol, I have some brackets for rear disk on the 2's and 3's.

Look under "products" then "old school"

The rear is a ford 5 lug pattern. I'd like to convert the front to a ford 5 lug, but a 4 lug would work too. I'm going to call about the brake kits 13btnos posted about. They look pretty nice.

No I haven't but I talked to the owner who is a good friend of one of my friends and says he can come up with any kit you want just need to tell him what your needs are. Alot of the old school cars are running these kits and is what I will be getting once my cars complete.

I called and talked with Tony, and I put a down payment on the drag racing 4 piston kit. When I get the kit I'll post some pics so anyone interested can see. I'm pretty excited. Thanks for the link 13btnos!

You can do a swap to use the whole 2nd gen suspension/brakes,subframe, thats what i am doing then i get 11 inch brakes 4 piston calipers, and better aluminium control arms, the swap is easy you only have to drill 2 bolt wholes, then you also get the 2nd gen rack and pinion steering

Cool. let us know how they turn out. I have a 4 or 5 lug solution that would use FB struts in the works. Probably hit around $125 or so for the kit when it is ready.

Looks like Tony treated you right! Great looking kit and show pics of it when you have it on the car. A lot of the 3/4 chassis guys in Florida are using his brake kits and they are running in the 8's in the 1/4 you will have more than enough braking with this setup. Good luck and keep us updated with your progress.

Here are the pics of the change. Everything bolts right on. No hassle. The kit pulls the wheel in nicely under the fender. Very nice stuff.

Here is a pic of the car. The first one is with the stock wheels before any changes.

Looks great I like the fitment of the wheels. If you have ever tried to put a Weld rims on the stock stuff it kind of looks goofy because the wheels are pushed out. That's the problem I have right now on my Datsun 1200 I want this brake kit to help remedy that problem.

What about replacement brake pads?
Are they a standard part, or do you have to go back to TheRacingStore?

Im sure you could get them from Tony at The Racing Store, or you can get them from Aerospace Components. Tony also said that Wilwood has a pad the same size, so you can order them from Summit Racing. You wont get them at an auto parts store, if thats what your asking.

How was dropping in the ford 9"? I'm looking at either a ford 9" or 8.8" cuzz I can get the 8.8" in disk, please let me know how much work was involved in converting the 9" to fit under your rx3.

Hey, I noticed it says your location is Reno. I live in Reno too. PM with your phone number and I can call you to give you an idea of how to get a 9 inch under there.
