A few things...

Did you ask BW if they were going to start making their housings with the investment cast method ever again? lol

Also, let me know how that speed sensor works out. Mine keeps throwing faults, pretty much every single time I drive the car.

Those rat rods are crazy lol.

I didn't realize Gravedigger would be there. My buddy at work loves that thing, he won't shut up about his new Gravedigger RC car lol.

Bud, just awesome.

I just want to thank you for your in-depth build thread as it has inspired me to rebuild my FD myself instead of taking it to a tuner, I had pretty much zero knowledge when it came to cars and in South Africa we don't have many shops that deal with rotary cars so was a big challenge for me to stripe everything and start fresh. I am nearly done with my build and has taken a good part of a year to complete as I don't have much time to spend in the garage. Again thank you so much for pushing yourself and in turn pushing me to do what I never thought I could do.

Hey Eric!

I didn't ask....but I can find that out for you!

Are you sure there isn't any type of interference? and everything is ok wiring wise?

I'll keep you updated but it'll be a couple months at the very least. I do plan to mirror the build here on the club though! so hopefully it'll just pop up in a post!

So I guess there are 10 Grave-Diggers.. I was talking to the driver about it..pretty gnarly huh!?

THANK YOU!!! You know it's posts like this that really keep me inspired to keep up the diligence! I really want to make sure that I can give something back...because this community is where I got my start. I credit the club for being the number one reason I took on the build on my own anyhow... I figured everything I'd be doing has been done to an extent before somewhere on here, so It would be my library when it came to learning =-) There is a lot of BS but there are also some very good reads It's great to hear about your build! do youhave a link? Post up! I'd love to come check it out!

Depending on how much of a build you did, a year is pretty damn fast haha. I've been working on mine off and on for about 10 years, and I mean Aaron has taken HOW LONG on his build? HAHA, jk Aaron.

Yeah I'd love to know because I'm looking at swapping in an 8374 this winter and I was curious if I should wait. It's really not that big of a deal, just cosmetic haha, but still.

Chris Ludwig did the wiring and it seems to be legit, I have no idea on interference. I figured I'd wait to see if anyone else had issues haha. This isn't really a huge deal either, it's just annoying seeing the fault light blinking every time I drive haha (he made the exhaust overheat light the fault light). So I'm contemplating removing it and just leaving the security system light since the alarm works again and I've accidentally set it off about 15 times now lol.

What are you talking about will be a couple months and hopefully pop up in a post? The speed sensor? I'm in no hurry. I'm about to put my car down for winter upgrades anyway.

Yeah I thought I read something about multiples being in different parts of the country so they don't have to haul it all over. Pretty cool.

It Sure does!! I'm really pumped for it! I'm really looking forward to All of your new products! The Idler Pulley is PRIMO!!!!! it's really nice! I was looking at it just last night! Easily the best on the market! Can't wait to install it! The New motor is going to be an animal! Maybe not the highest powered rotary....but it'll nestle itself right in the middle of Performance and Reliability with a cutting edge display of exactly what were capable of Power band wise! Were not looking for the highest power....but we are looking to put down The Best Power-Band yet for a track car! That is my goal!...with of course the same reliability as my current set up!

Small Update:

Well as things settled down after SEMA and Seven Stock, I've finally got a bit of time to start thinking about next season. Assess exactly what needs to be refreshed on the Wolf and really start hammering away at prep for it. But at the same time... I don't want to let any time pass without keeping up momentum... its really important that although the season has come to an end.. that I continue to Push forward. It's the only way to get ahead. But I waaaas able to sneak away for a day fishing with my buddy Nam down in SD! Caught my first YellowTail Off a Kayak...and my body was wreaked after paddling nearly 10+Miles out in the middle of the Ocean!! One Hell of a trip and I can't wait to get out there again with him!

Also, picked up some Espresso beans right next to Nams Rad Pizza SHop! Nam also drives really clean red FD he's prepping for an EFR 9174 install! Any Coffee lovers out there?!

Also...I guess I havn't pulled the engine juuuust yet because I really wanted to feel out my new Signature Series Stance Coilovers! Really see what the new ones were capable of! And it's a little hard to chew pulling a perfectly good engine. I know it's necessary if I want to avoid potential issues next year, but man she feels good! I might even take her out to Just Drift's Toy Drift this weekend!

So I got to work pulling out my old 3+ year old Coilovers.. and man they were champs... After being beat on their whole life it was time to lay them to rest.... especially after ASB when my buddy hit me mid-drift after my tire blew out.. Bent much?
...It was a pretty hard hit...and it actually bent his coilover as well.

As soon as I got the old units out I decided to halt the install and give the rear end a thorough inspection. Checking for any loose fasteners, any play in ball joints and bent suspension components. Luckily...out back all I found was a slightly loose Mount bolt on my Passenger side Dual Caliper bracket.
New Rear Stance Signature Coilovers installed!! PUMPED!

During the Install of my fronts... I stopped to look over just how nice the new coilvers were and noticed that Dave at TF works had included something that really caught me off guard on the coilovers..
Engraved on the top hat of the coilover was a nice little reminder of where hard work and persistence may take you! And I will be honest... when I saw it.. my eyes welled up a bit and It just motivated me even more to do the best job that I could! Regardless of how cold it was getting in the garage!

And when I say it was getting a bit cold in the garage... I mean one second I was sweating a bit in my thermal...and within what seemed like 10 min.. I was watching my breath freeze in front of me. I was like "holy hell its cold." So I look up out front of the garage as I only had one side open and see some clouds rolling in... Then the wind pics up.... And Here she comes!!

Heavy winds, Lightening and thunder! pretty cool, and I kept the garage door open while i finished the install. It took me quite a bit longer than I had anticipated because I kept stopping....cleaning...inspecting...and making sure that everything was 100% again before the new coilovers went in. I did find some play, and so I pulled the pins on all 4 Crown nuts for outer ties and lower ball joints and re-set them as well as replace the pins with new fresh ones.

After all was said and done......I WAS going to take the car out in the rain to feel the new coilovers..but I just got done cleaning everything and didn't feel like having to clean it again...SO against my will I sat it out. I'm going to take care out today to see how the new coils feel though! So i'll update you guys with that info ASAP!

In the meantime! Heres a couple cool shots of The Wolf!

Are those Swift springs on the old coilovers? What are the specs and what are you doing with them? lol

And 3 years is still fairly new, I had my original Stance coils on for about 10 years before I put the Ohlins on this year lol. I drove it pretty hard on those, but didn't do any drifting and I never bent any haha.

Bro........ having your name etched into your coil overs is big pimping! but for real man that is a sweet touch and they must have thought you were worth it.

you and Mike are actually very similar in ways. Hard workers with great attitudes living life to the max. Iv been saying it for years since Mike broke out of NZ into world scene . he may not be the best...... but he is one of the best Brand representative you could ask for.same for you. always working to improve where you came up short etc and look where it's getting you. **** wish I could say I had my name on a set of tophats.

look forward to seeing the new engine.maybe we will get a looky at the many secrets going into it lol

Holy spacers!!! I was nervous about running a 20mm spacer for a new set of wheels I want... now I am rethinking that considering the beating you put on these.

Thanks for the kind words man! It really means a lot to have people on the forum behind me! I think of rx7club as a sort of un-official journal...for my life concerning the wolf.... which has become a far larger part of my life than I had ever expected before. I miss the days where more people would post up in here and just say what they were feeeling. Even some of the haters! although it's annoying at times because they really don't think before they post.. at least it's entertaining nah? hahaha.

I'll do my best to post up as many of the little tricks as possible....without sacrificing What makes Abel soo good..as possible. But I really think a lot of it is his tuning. I've watched him....and trust me.. I have watched a LOT of different tuners. And he's the only one okay..maybe 2 that i've seen that take a particular special care in one regard. And if you pm me.. maybe i'll tell you what that is

Yea man, I will say this... if your going to run spacers. Don't run Alum "Race" lugs. It's only a matter of time before they fail. But Ive actually run the above with an additional 7MM of spacing on there. As long as you have 7-8 Turns on Steel Lug nuts and you Tq and double check each time you put the wheel on... No issues. But seriously... tq and double check that "star patterned" Tq job twice. I do it every time.

Thanks! I'm definitely interested, but I completely understand if you don't end up wanting to sell. I agree, you can never have too many lol.

Hows the car running by the way?! I think you should just turn up the boost instead of the jump in size. Watch the EFR really wake up!!!

Small Update:

Well as I sat in the garage yesterday afternoon I realized that I have been really procrastinating with taking the car apart. Reason being, .....I know how this rebuild could go. And since I've been so busy lately I havn't exactly made my usual list of things to complete...in the correct order. With that said... I'm a little scared to pull a perfectly running car apart because I know what it took to get the car to where it is today. But After thinking about it... I decided I'd pull the engine out and make a list WHILE i was doing it. Taking special care to fix small issues I wasn't necessarily happy with, but then also asking myself how difficult would it be to fully complete each task. If it were anything that would really hold up the build.. I would put it on the bottom of the list and if it were something that was really bothering me..... up up it went. So here are the details of the new build!

New Ported 13B 2-Rotor build
All Engine work will be done by Abel Ibarra and myself
With Porting done all by Abel
The plan is to really gear this engine for response. Utilize the EFR's capabilities and try to squeeze even more Low end out of the already stout power we've been putting down!
Won't necessarily be trying to make any More power.... but we will be Shooting for even More response.
Abels got a few Tricks up his sleeve with the engine, and I've got a few tricks up my sleeve in terms of the Turbo set up that'll really put the icing on the cake!
Aside from the Engine i'll be re-doing my Intake Piping but keeping my current intercooler and Radiator set up.

I am going to RE-vamp my fuel set up with the AI SP800 surge tank. Make a Plexi glass partition int he back of the trunk for safety and tech, and run all new -8 AN lines from the tank to the rails.

I'll be using a host of Full Function Engineering parts including the new Idler pulley which is a really nice piece, AND their new EMAP Canister along with the Borg Warner Turbo Shaft speed sensor to really fine tune the engine! I'll also be bumping up my External Gate spring pressure to 20 Lbs!!!

I've got a few things to work out but for now, Thats what i've settled on!

It is pretty crazy how it only takes me 3 relaxed hours to get the engine out of the car now. And that's with cleaning and inspecting things =-)

Here are a couple pics

New FFE Pulley Kit Installed....couldn't resist to see how it was going to look. I'm also pretty pumped that there's all sorts of room clearance wise in every direction. Nothing close!

I'm glad it only takes 15 Min to get both my Intercooler and Radiator Plus all ducting out of the way!

I also may make sure to take the ducting off once every round to make sure not too much stuff got wedged into the fins of my Radiator. Here it doesn't really look like a lot...but there was a large section of the fins that were 100% filled with muddy rock sediment. The car didn't get hot the whole year...but I did notice that it seemed to take a little longer for the car to cool down off track in the pit. I always let the car cool down till the water temps come down close to ambient.

Also, check this out.... a while ago I found this little puppy in the back yard at like 12 midnight while I was waiting for someone to come by and pick up some parts he'd purchased off me. I fostered her for a week until I found her a home with these really nice ladies from the coffee shop.
Well anyways, the new owner keeps sending me pictures of her. And Honestly... They're always really nice!! not to be a wuss or anything.. but it's good to see the dog because she would just sit and chill with me in the garage all day. And she was always so happy. I'm just really glad I was able to find her a good home.
I named her Delly.

Sounds like you have a good game plan and thanks for the paragraph and separate sentences. A lot easier to read :-)

You ever thought about going with a manual PS rack?

Yezzir! I really like it. Construction is solid and at first I was a bit worried with the mounting because I didn't trust it. But after finishing the install I was more than confident in it. I Used some larger washers on the bottom side of the mounting bolts on the underside of the hood and Although I didn't install it without the washers... When it was finished...It was sturdy as hell. I think there's a video of the wolf on youtube with the go pro pointed backwards and you can see how sturdy the wing is even on a rough track.

The only drawback here is the fact that it's not Carbon... Which I think Ray may be working on. But for the price savings for the exact same thing...I don't mind having the deck non carbon. I ended up painting mine with the rest of the car and it turned out really good

I think the deck weight is only 14lbs too. End plates one of my favorite parts!!!
