Turbo
It was my b'day a couple of days back. My wife, she wanted to get me something for the rx7 and had been planning on it for a while. So when she asked me what i wanted......I said: a set of turbo (the seals gave up on the current one). Thought I'd share.
I contacted my friend Dev (FD3S7007). THANKS DEV!!! These are what came in today. Will install them as soon as my hose tech kit is here.
Dev--will transfer the shipping cost asap. Give my regards to Sheela.

One of the nipples for the actuator is broken. What do you guys suggest for a fix? I was thinking welding of some sort. I don't have the broken piece, but am pretty sure I can find one similar looking nipple.
Is it possible to remove the complete stud? If so, I can take that off my current set of turbo and install.

On your other set of turbos, is the compressor housing held on with a snap ring or with bolts like the one pictured? If they are the same, I would just swap on the other compressor housing.
EDIT: Actually, you might wanna check and see if that's a good idea with 99 turbos, because of the abradable seals.

The compressor housing is aluminum while the nipple insert is steel. Clearly they are not welded or cast together, so they are a press fit. You should be able to heat the aluminum with a torch and pull the nipple assembly out, probably with pliers or vise grips. However, the nipple assembly might be too thin, and not able to withstand removal. You'll just have to try it (on your old set first) to see.
IF you can get the nipple off your old set, then repeat for the new set, and then reinstall the good nipple on your new turbos.
IF not, you'll probably have to cut off a nipple from your old set with a cutoff wheel, and then have it welded onto the new set.
IF the new set has the restrictor pills integrated into the nipples themselves, but your old set had the restrictors in the hoses, be sure to transfer the restrictor over into the hose on the new set.

2. No, the restrictor pills are NOT integrated into the nipple. Nor is it inside the pipe. The pills are just where the joint has broken NOT in the broken part of the nipple. (will post pictures tomorrow morning for better views).
3. There is a person who does great job with copper welding. Will try him out and see what he says.

Well the problem is fixed. I found a similar looking nipple lying among the junk parts at the workshop. I took that part, cut the nipple off, and welded it to my turbo unit. Now all I need is the hose kit.
