Question Need some help from you guys....

What up people?

Ive recently come across a large bundle of cashflow. I landed a 50k a year job. So here's where i need your help. Ive always loved the FD and i want to get one. Im alittle iffy about it tho. Ive heard more problems coming from this car than any other. Despite the fact that ive heard all of this negativity of it, i still want one.

If i were to get one, it would be used as my only car. Id get the rear seats for my mom and sister. I take the train to work, so i wont need to drive it everyday. Id basically have it for pleasure. Goin here and there. Also to make it faster and look hot.

I have a basic knowledge on cars, plus alittle more about mods and stuff. Since you guys pretty much know all about FD's, i wanted to know what you think i should do.

thanks.

My advice:

Do some reading before asking questions. Educate yourself by reading what is already here.

Don't come on the forum and start new threads without doing ANY reasearch.

ny, eh. long island? that is where i am.

this is not an all season car. just look at the snow we got this year. there ain't no way you are gonna get around in this car in the snow. as for putting more than 2 people in the car - only if they are midgets the size of the little fairie in peter pan.

congrats on the job! instead of spending your hard earned cash on a car, rent a place in the city and chase all the skirts you can find. it will be much more enjoyable than spending your money on a car. trust me

nah ive done some research already. Ive read the links on this very site and did some searches on the different issues of the FD. Ive done quite afew searches over the years.

I just wanted to here some words from you guys. Wanted some owner feedback basically. Wanted to know what its like to actually own an FD. Reserch only says facts on this and that. So hows it like guys?

Gouki i saw the jdm seats on afew threads here from some searches that i did. My mom and sis are about 5 feet tall each. I figured that they would fit in there. I gotta see those seats in person tho. Dont know how big they really are.

Your mom and sis will fit fine in the back seats, after you install them, if you chop off their legs at mid-thigh. Anything else is purely delusional. Instead of seeing the seats, I suggest you see an FD, and possibly then you will understand the complete and utter lack of room in the back. If you want to take people around, get an RX-8.

Yeah I agree with him. FD is a great car but something you may want to have a back up car.

I had officially had 3 FD in the past year (only counting 2 thou) and never had any mayor mechanical problems only like vaccum hoses and clutch problem, that's about it so far.

thanks hondas,

what im gonna do is get a beater and an FD. Today i went to tobay fest. Its an annual meet up here in NYC. There were about 500+ cars there. Lots of evos, supras, a skyline (R32), WRXs, Ferraris, Vipers, Porsches, etc.

Only car that caught my eye tho was a red FD that was in immaculate condition. Cwest body kit, Turbo upgrade, Volk wheels. Man that thing was awesome.

It made me finalize my decision for the FD. Ima get a beater for when more people wanna chill. The FD will b my pride and joy.

Thanks everyone for the help.

An RX-8 would be perfect for your needs. It would serve well as a daily driver, you would have room for the clan and you would have enough umph and handling for a good sports car feel on those days you have it to yourself. An RX-7 is more in the category of high-strung sports cars of the Ferrari, Porsche genre.
