im wondering if its safe to drive my relatively stock 93 automatic (look at sig) with an ecu that is meant for a DP, MP, intake, etc.

can a 93 use an ecu from a 94 or a 95?

also, whats the exact difference from the cali and the non cali. is it a "non-cali" basically just cause its made for a DP and MP and such?

so im looking for a stock automatic ECU. maybe one reprogramed for intake and catback. PM me if you can hook me up

It should be safe to use but you will most likely run rich.

A 93 shouldn't have a problem using an ecu from a 94 or 95 although 95's don't have egr's.

you can blow it running rich....i would not drive it hard or under boost until you get it tuned properly. I honestly wouldnt even drive it like that at all.

I've never heard of anyone actually blowing their motor by running rich. Do you have any info on this? I assume you are talking about the carbon hot spot theory. IMO, possible, but very unlikely.

I can say this though, if it runs rich, you will have MASSIVE carbon build up on your rotors, not so much the combustion surfaces, but the sides....unfortunately, i have seen this. It does wonders for compression numbers.

Anyway, other than running rich, you shouldn't have any problemswith that ECU. The egr issue with the 95's is the only problem I could see with using a different ECU.

I tried using a 93 ECU in my car and all of the check lights came on and the car ran like ****. It might have been the diff in east coast west coast
