ECU, my stocker safe with a super loaded one?
im wondering if its safe to drive my relatively stock 93 automatic (look at sig) with an ecu that is meant for a DP, MP, intake, etc.
can a 93 use an ecu from a 94 or a 95? also, whats the exact difference from the cali and the non cali. is it a "non-cali" basically just cause its made for a DP and MP and such? so im looking for a stock automatic ECU. maybe one reprogramed for intake and catback. PM me if you can hook me up |
It should be safe to use but you will most likely run rich.
A 93 shouldn't have a problem using an ecu from a 94 or 95 although 95's don't have egr's. |
you can blow it running rich....i would not drive it hard or under boost until you get it tuned properly. I honestly wouldnt even drive it like that at all.

I can say this though, if it runs rich, you will have MASSIVE carbon build up on your rotors, not so much the combustion surfaces, but the sides....unfortunately, i have seen this. :( It does wonders for compression numbers. :stick: :) Anyway, other than running rich, you shouldn't have any problemswith that ECU. The egr issue with the 95's is the only problem I could see with using a different ECU. |
what is this EGR?
and can someone explain to me the difference from cali and non cali ecu's? thanks |

carbon buildup can cause sticky seals too
