Differential oil ?

Anyone knows if one can use 80W-90 or 75W-90 synthetic transmission oil in the differential ? I cant find any diff oil around atm, and am doing a tune-up tomorrow so I need to know. Also, I'd need to know how much of it goes in the diff.

Thanks!

My question is: can I run the same oil for diff and tranny ? Also, is 80W-90 ok, or is it too thick ?

Thanks!

Yup, same oil for both is fine. The diff on the FD does not need any friction enhancers, etc. -- regular gear oil is what you want.

Nobody answered the capacity part. So I will tell it here (from experience): The capacity of differential on FD is about over 1.5L and below 2L. So that you know how many bottles to buy

I have put in Mobil 1, 75W-90, full synthetic transmission oil. Priced about $15 / liter.

Also changed brake fluid to ATE Super Blue and changed engine oil, filter and spark plugs. About spark plugs in a new thread...

$15/ liter?!?! is that US $?

Tranyy takes 2.6 quarts or 2.46 liters
Differential takes 1.4 quarts or 1.32 liters

Buy 4 liters and you will be fine!
