i just removed the air pump and moved the AST tank to take its place, i did a search and a few members mentioned that when you remove the air pump you have a chance of the water pump pulley sliping so i just wanted to know if that has actually happened to anyone, kinda dont want put it back because thats the only place the AST fits had it stuck between the frame and IC end tank.
Did you use a greddy pully kit when you removed your airpump Hugo? That's what I did and I haven't had any problems.

i did same,,,,bought the gredddy kit cheap and easy to install,,,has much more belt coverage and the water pump pulley has small teeth to stop belt slip (cant really see it slipping) ad bolted the AST on the airpump mount just like youu,,works perfect!
i didnt know that info on the greedy pulley kit thanks, gonna take off the silicone coolant lines had few problems with them recently and just make a block off plate so i can remove the air pump lines.
I just pulled off my air pump yesterday too. As for pulley sizes and changes, I don't think you need to change them. Just get a belt that fits.
I ran my belt on the outside of the water pump pulley rather than the inside. I didn't know if I would have enough contact area if I ran a belt on the inside. Better safe than sorry.
You probably aren't getting the proper coolant flow if it's running the pump backwards.
Thanks Mahjik. Come to think of it, it runs hotter than it did before. Well, city driving is the same, but there's a noticable difference on the highway.
