What Should My Horse Power Be ?
What should my HorsePower BE???\ I Have An 82" Striped Down to just Carb, Motor & Tranny. Rats Nets is GONE! I was running aginst my boys acura integ. From the light I hit first left him at the light . Charped The tires First and Second and I had him But When I hit Third gear She Bogged down like she was Flooded. What would make her do that. Oh!! It's only say 3000 Miles On A rebuild Motor and Trans so what could be wrong.

Could'nt be 92 it was 105 HPs before we pulled the Rats nest,AC, Smog pump & anything to make it lighter. And my shifting is fine, (I did'nt say I missed a gear I said it boogeddown like it was flooded!) more than likely I've been street racing before you could ride your Big Wheel.

removing the AC, PS, and rats nest does not produce HP. it frees up horse power. I say around 105 to the rear wheels.

Factory stated 101 hp is fwhp, the 92 was quoted as rwhp, accounting for drivetrain loss. If you want to know your hp, get a G-Tech and make some runs or put it on a dyno.
Asking what your hp here is like asking what your favorite color or food is. You will get a lot of guesses, but only you will really know when you take the above mentioned steps.

As I said, I removed the Rats nest, AC, Smog pump & Anything To Make it LIGHTER!! I was once told that by removing rats nest (because it restricts about 25-30% of the motors power, I truely think its about 10-15%) it would increase the HP. OH! Yeah! Yes I am PROUD of it. AND I'M ALSO PROUD THAT I'M OLD ENOUGH TO SPELL PROUD!! NEXT TIME COME CORRECT!! (pround) And Your Trying to joke me! get a Speak And Spell. Pastor Chuck, P.S (Old Man Say!) Nah. You're wrong about that. The nest gains approximately 2-3 HP at the fly. It usually sees improved gas mileage by 3-10 MPG fw for most people down here, though.
The AC was sapping MAYBE 5 FWHP when it was active. Otherwise it doesn't sap power at all. The Air Pump gained, again, around 3 FWHP. That's all estimates, of course.
So, ten FWHP at max. After train loss, we can guess you've gained 8 or so HP at the differential.
Weight loss? The enitre "Engine Bay Reduction" gains you approximately a fifteen to twenty pound weight loss if you did everything correctly. Maybe more depending on how extreme. I lost 25 or so, myself, taking out AC (EVERYTHING related to AC!) and emissions, as well as all unnecessary resevoirs, wires, and all that jazz.
What model is this car? You'll see more of a gain over stock if you reduce a GSL to barebones than if you reduce an S to barebones (Because it's already barebones, of course!)
If you want to gain ANY kind of real power, you will have to adjust and heavily modify fuel intake and exhaust.
A Yaw (or Sterling, I guess) carburetor, RacingBeat exhaust, and streetport, when combined with all of the necessary supplemental upgrades (higher flowing fuel pump, FPR, port matched intake runners (NOT TOO BIG PRIMARIES!) modified air box (just cut nice big holes around the element!), insulated cold air box (not one of those ******* useless cones you see on all the ricers), correct carb tuning) will usually net you nearer to the over-sought 200 mark.
There are few free modifications on ANY car that will gain you any more than a second in the quarter mile. Those that DO exist are usually not street legal (complete weight reduction, carburetor modifications, street porting).
My FB beats my Uncle's FC, and I have the mods that I told you about. That puts me into 14's-15's. The next step is a better port (mine was ported with Texas emissions testing in mind, as the plan was to move there at the time).

From reading your posts/thread I honestly thought you where a sixteen year old ricer.
But after your big wheel coment I looked at your profile to find that you are a forty year old pastor who is all about street racing
"runnin my boy's integra" you're halarious.
For someone who has so many rx7s and has been street racing (lol) for so long, you shure aren't very savy about this stuff.

Funny thread. Chill guys, typos on a forum don't qualify as an IQ test.
Don't bother with a G-tech. I borrowed my friends back before I started modding. It said I was making 98hp and 129 torque. Naturally I was disappointed when I measured at a local dyno day and found out it had 72 hp and 77 torque.
