Wolf plugin

Hi guys,

first post,

I tried a search but didn't have much luck.

I'm interested in opinions from those that are running the Wolf 3d v4 plugin on their FDs?

I'm familar with the wolf (have run the stand alone on other cars), but interested as to how it effects drivability etc. I need tunable management but don't want to comprimise on the super smooth feel of the FD.

Any advice/experiences welcome.
Thanks,
AJC

Notslo,

I have actually ordered one from Chris at Wolf USA and am awaiting arrival of the new plugin for my 2nd gen. From wat chris has told me about the new plugin, it is AWESOME. People with motec systems are switching to the new plugin, thats how great this system is. Chris has also tuned 2 2nd gens and 1 3rd gen with the new wolf plugin and he was just estatic at how this system works. but i guess i'll find out soon. If you need anymore info, give chris a call at wolf usa and he would be glad to answer any of your questions. he is a super guy and a great help. i believe the site is www.wolfems.com then go to the dealer search and he is located in Cali under WolfUSA.

Sounds good. That almost seals it.

I'm in Australia (used to live about 500meters from Wolf) but keen to get the opinion of anyone currently using the plugin?

How long have you been waiting?

Wink Hows Wolfy?

you installed your plug in?? I run an fd with plug in too. Take a look on some issues we are discussing(Map update, idle set up, boost control etc). There is a base map too on a thread by turbo rotor.
Post your map there, so we can increase the database for evalualing different setups. i am runninig 12.3 with 8-9 psi and a slipping clutch!! i also posted that map!

also try to post the initial map that wolf supplied in the ecu. in my case it didnt work and i had to build mine....

regards bro

Hey guys, finally got my plugin up and going.

The base map that came with it was crap, bearly allowed it to idle but after about 4 hours tuning we made some good progress.

Couple of questions-

MAP sensor - we disconnected the little denso 'boost sensor' unit (on firewall RHS) and took our reading from there. Getting accurate vac/boost readings but has this affected anything else. beter spot maybe?

Got a wierd buzzing noise comming from in/under (can't locate) the t/body. Quite loud, can hear it inside the cab. Can't be good...any ideas?

Water temp and air temp sensors are reading incorrectly. At normal operating temp, water temp reads 65-66 degres c. Is there some calibration i've missed?

Cold start is a b__ch. Any help appeciated

Overall pretty happy. Pick up a 5-10% gain across the board.

Talking

The buzzing is the idle speed control that is on the side your throttle body.

Ok, slowly working my way through the problems.....

Thermo fans!

The wolf control the fans fine when the car is running or the ign at 'on'. When the ign is at 'acc' the fans will run constantly, regardless of temp.
What gives?
