Wolf 3D ver. 3 Is it a good EMS?
Alright, so I've been looking for a standalone and of course haltech and microtech seem to be really the only ones I see mentioned much. Well, there is a Wolf 3D ver. 3 for sale, but I have heard next to nothing about this brand of ems (let alone a specific version). From what I can see this is an old model...so do anybody have any experience with these ecu's compared to microtech and haltech?
Heya,
I cant compare it to the other brands, but I ran the 3.0 on my 86 sport for several years and it had ZERO problems. Ran like a champ.
When I was taking it to the MADS event several years ago from Sebring (Track day) to VIR, I tweaked the fuel slightly in the bands from 70-100MPH, so that at cruise it was just lean enough at "holding speed" throttle setting, that I got 35MPG on the drive up I-95.
Made tons of power, and was very easily tunable from the hand controller.
I still have it, and its in my 91 daily driver currently. I also have a 4.56 for my EP car, but I have been gathering parts, and have not started installing them yet
I personally wouldnt hesitate to pick up another 3.0, if they would let me fuel inject my ITA car.

I have a Wolf v3.1 myself. I havent had a real good chance to get hands on, but I can tell you that its fairly full featured.
The guy I bought it off of ran it for years and years without much of any problems on a 400HP car.
He upgraded because it didnt offer the tuning resolution he was looking for. Meaning is fairly basic compared to newer EMS's.
