No Trailing spark
First, heres car setup: 89 TII engine w/ streetport.
Stock CAS-wired like Wolf Dealer tech 2 article says "option 1"
FD Ignitor-wired like NYTs how to (just double checked CAS and Ignitor wiring)
Wolf settings are like NYTs stock CAS how to. When live w/ laptop trigger ref/sync offset is 4 and ref/sync skip is 5.
The car will start and idle for about 10 seconds before dying. The thing is I never get trailing spark and the leading spark seems very inconsistant. Trailing literally comes and goes, it is usually there but will go away and come back. This is when I am checking w/ timing light at cranking. Cranks fast and timing light is OK. I have mark on pulley @ 10 BTDC and it lines up while cranking, so it shouldnt be a timing issue.
One theory I have is that I fried the Ignitor b/c I used to have settings for modified CAS, and it actually ran a little bit like that. Not sure if its possible to damage the ignitor like that, but it looks like you need special mazda tool to test it so I might get another.
Anyways, I appreciate any input anyone may have.
Mike

what is the rpm on the wolf screen doing when youre cranking? worry bout getting the car running first, since the engine shouldnt need trailing to run.
you also might want to read the posts about injector sequencing and see some of the later maps ive posted with different staging.
i cant see all the stuff for the ref+Sync setup because im not hooked up to a car unfortunately =[

rpm is approximately 250. sometimes I will see a 400 or 500 or 80 or 100 jump for a second when its just cranking but I know its pretty steady ~250 (fuel relay unhooked).
just checked for spark again too. trailings would fire once or twice when I first start cranking and then nothing.... leadings would fire about 40% of the time. they would fire for a while then quit, then come back, then go away. this is w/ a remote starter and timing light. they should be very consistant, right? i realize car would run w/ just leadings or just trailings, but theres something more wrong here.
how quickly and how hot does your ignitor get? its got a heat sink so I imagine it gets pretty hot. mine is getting hot very soon. I'm not sure if I'm going in wrong direction w/ the ignitor or not.
tomorrow I'll probably make some changes to fuel map, but somethings gotta be wrong w/ the ignition...
