detonation????

so i'm not sure. my rx7 is super loud. so it's hard to really hear anything...
anyway, i'm cruising in 5th about 65mph and i put my foot semi quickly to the floor.... i'm at a mere 5-9psi and the engine jolts twice... definately noticeable. later the car is idling and just dies. starts up fine. it seems like it's got normal power. then later it jolts again... i'd imagine i'd be putting in TOO m uch fuel, but i can't really tune the damn thing yet.... also... your wolf injector pulse mS... does it constantly stream up and down around a specific mS per load % and rpm? like.. my rx7 was sitting for about two weeks while i did some suspension fixes.. fixed some leaks, just some nice TLC.. the bitch wouldn't start up worth ****. got massive 'noise' and 'syncx' i'm not even sure i know what the nooise and syncx is referring too.

now by the car just 'dying' i mean i notice everything quits, i get no pulse (cause i'm putting my foot into it... t hinking it's starving) and it just revs down to a dead stop (in gear), and then i crank it over and it starts up fine...? bad grounds?

and the injector pulse like i'll have it idle at 2.4 or so... but it'll be like 2.2-2.7 but obviously fast. but when i started the car and got it warmed up to operating temperature it was actually on 2.4 and staying at 2.4.. and it idled perfectly. after driving it, it became spuratic once again.... which makes me believe the misfiring(detonation?) is happening randomly....????

is ANYTHING i'm saying making any sense?

I havn't modified the engine at all since i put it in the garage a couple weeks ago.. (i fixed a few leaks).

also, my vacuum seems rather high... which i suppose isn't a bad thing .. idling about 15in or 51k.... anyway yeah.... any ideas for anything? quick please!~ before i blow the damn thing up

i checked the plugs and they are pretty black, (carbon) so that's a *better* sign.

doesn't seem like it's lost any power, but i've been babying it....

but again today the wolf idled at 2.43 and stayed there maybe 2.44 and 2.42 but basically it STAYED

usually it's very sparatic.... is that normal??

Is your temp sensor working or did you take reroute the map sensor line to something that leaks when hot ...soleniod? Maybe you tuned it with a leak and now you have fixed the leak you need to tune it again.

hm. I didn't touch the map sensor line to the wolf. but i will check.

yeah, the temp sensor is working fine. it gets between 83-86c. the ambient temp sensor reads fine too. They are both new. and i imagine they came with the wolf.

i'll keep you updated. i'm on lunch and i'll go take a look.
