Are you passing smog w/streetport?

I'm asking because I'm going to get a rebuild and I still want to pass smog. All bolt ons can be changed back to stock, even large injectors, but you're kinda stuck with a ported motor.
So are CA FD's w/streetports passing?

I really appreciate the feedback because I left Cali 4 years ago to serve in the Army and now I'm back(so is the FD).
There was no smog at all in Colorado where I was stationed, but now I'm getting a motor built with a port job. When I last had a Cali smog I had a 165k+ orig motor with dp, new airvalve and hiflo cat and was having problems.
Now everything will be brand-spankin new but more performance oriented.

Maybe your high flow cat was burned out lasts time. You had a 165k original FD motor? I'm impressed.

i've seen more stock cars have issues passing smog than modded cars with programmable ECU's installed.

welcome to california! over here we have the dealerships which your tax dollars pay to support and over here we have our politicians who pass the laws to get your old car off the road!

yea well, the only thing i am sorry about is the fact that you guys will be stuck without me.

oh, and screw california! i'm gonna flip this bitch off as i pass the state line.

it's a nice place to visit but i don't wanna live here anymore. fucked up roads, fucked up laws and fucked up economy. i really feel sorry for my parents who paid over $300k in taxes and permit fees to build their dream house which is now only worth twice what they paid in those fees..

Your parents should have bought property near the beach, Ben. My house has never lost value through this whole recession...in fact it's worth more now than it was 5 years ago.

3 rules to buying real estate: Location, location and location.

that's where they originally lived but they now have 4 acres and a 4k sq ft log house that was worth twice as much. problem with the old house is there was a red tagged house above it with a cracked foundation on drilled pillars into a sand hillside. the city wouldn't push him to fix it or tear it down, it's been a hazard since the '89 quake. the guy bought the house for $6k at public auction and hasn't done a thing with it since, he thought he was sitting on a gold mine when he was in fact sitting on a money pit.

yeah they could have bought a different property but i think they just didn't want to go through the same issues fixing up an older house.

Dont mean to threadjack here but what, then, would be the single biggest liability to passing smog as far as performance mods are concerned?

Your ported exhaust probably. Maybe your large injectors depending on the tune if you don't remove those.

Roads are messed up everywhere, laws and economy are f'd up everywhere to. and so is this house situation AMERICA is in. look at georgia, vegas, all over people are losing money from their homes. given you igo somewhere where there is NOTHING then yes, u can find something cheap. If you wanna escape, you need to leave the U.S as this is the american way
