If the steering wheel isn't on the right side of the car then it's 100% bullshit. Period, end of conversation. It's possible if it's a RHD, but a USDM LHD '97 FD doesn't exist. Nothing after a '95 as far as USDM FD's go. Sorry to dissappoint you.

I wouldn't go that far. There is some idiot chick on these forums that swears up and down that she has a '96 USDM FD. That point has been argued off and on for the past year. Some people are just retarded and refuse to accept that they are wrong. Plus, the original poster really seemed like he thought that add might be accurate. Just trying to help there smart guy.

and it would be worth more than $12k since it would be such a rare car but so far as we know there was never even a single USDM FD built after '95.

maybe it was a 95 that was sold in 96...that does happen...in which case, the craigslist car in question could have been a 95 sold in 97...though i have a hard time believing that an FD would sit on a dealer lot for 2 years unsold...but maybe?

it's possible but even so it's false advertising to ad it as a '97 when it's not.

I thought of that too, but still unlikely. And about the '96 FD, that dumb bitch says that it was built in '96. Even says it shows in on the door sill, but she would never attach a picture of it on the forum. Shows how pathetic some people are. If I remember right there were only 500 '95 FD's brought into the U.S.

Hmmm I thought I heard from someone that Mazda actually had to ship some 3rd gens back to Japan cuz they couldn't sell them here? I dunno if it was a really reputable source or anything but yeah. Still even with that I suppose its still possible that it sat in some hick towns Mazda lot for a couple years or something nuts like that. Well either that or its the Occam's Razor solution- its a typo.

My '95 fd has a build date of December '95 and was sold at the dealer in March of '96.

Lol.. i'm definitely sure that Reza knows better, being that he owns an FD also and AutoXs at nearly every AutoX event in the bay area plus having his own personal experience and knowledge. he's probably just being sarcastic.

so when u comin back exactly? you know what time it is.....
