Who's down for weekly meets...

We should have a weekly meets for norcal 7 folks. Nothing fancy, nothing special. But I hate to see the awkwardness when I see other folks from the forum at a meet. Just meet once a week, grab some dinner and afterwards go for a cruise, a movie, or a strip club.

I was thinking maybe like Wednesday during the week so it doesn't interfere with any of your weekly maintanence schedule for your 7 or nothing. j/k

So how about it?

How about the new Krispy Kreme on Prospect Ave and Lawrence Expwy, by the Westgate shopping mall.

It's pretty new, low profile, open late.

there were monthly meets that were not really well attended, I don't think weekly ones will work.

But Justin, you're gonna come, right?

Well, that's the point I'm trying to address. There's a big difference in meeting people 12 times a year compared to 52 times. Also for monthly meets, if you miss out on one and go to the next one, chances are people who showed up the first time but didn't see too many people, they won't show up. It's just too far in between. Weekely meets, you don't have to plan ahead a month in schedule to attend, so no pressure. I think weekly meets can actually help people form new friendships rather than just a group of guys with one similar interest having a "meet."

Since it is a weekly meet just to get some dinner. We don't need any fancy plans for awesome and memorable cruises. Just meet up, chat about our cars, get some grub on and you're on your way again. Or if you feel like it, you can go onto spontaneous cruises, whatever floats your boat.

what do you think?

There have actually been pretty good turn outs at the monthly ones. 15+ cars each time, more or less depending on location. A lot of us have been to each one, and we generally caravan down or up and meet up, things have been working well. Meet up wherever, chat on barotary, meet again. There has been talk about more frequent meets between those who have formed friendships, strip club meet coming, an ikea photo shoot just happened... stuff generally organized by phone on the fly though.

I'm not opposed to the weekly ones, infact, it'd be great. It's been attempted in the past and on average 3 people would show up, not a lot. It disolved pretty quickly. That was a couple years ago, who knows, it might work now.

I'd think about going, but Saratoga is a long drive, I'm generally too tired afterwork to go all the way down there. (Unless there are gals too. )

Same here. I'm on the border of Milpitas and San Jose, but willing to drive to Saratoga every now and then. I really need to get my car tuned soon as well

Guys, we will be combining our Brian Cain tuning session this coming Saturday in Santa Rosa with a dyno Day, 3 pulls for 75.00, 65.00 each if we can get 5 or more cars. This would be in the early afternoon, following the tuning sessions. Call me if interested, or respond to my thread on this forum. Carl Byck 707-696-2705

Alright then how does 7:30 at Krispy kreme sound to you guys?

And Carl, sorry, but that's very expensive for 3 baseline pulls on a dyno day. I'll see if I can arrange a dyno day at a domestic shop that I know of. Dyno days are usually around $40-50 for 3 baselines, $75 is everyday price.

If you can set up a dyno day that'd be great. I've been trying to get one together but ATP isnt hosting those anymore. I'll definately be there if the journey isnt too far.

I will be out there at 7:30ish as well regardless and I'll bring out my gimp 7.

I am a bit out of the way but usually manage to make it to the monthly meets now.. I am with Justin on this one being that weekly's are fine for close people but for myself I wouldn't be making them very often... Though I am in that area pretty frequently... So who knows.... Its worth the try, thats for sure.

Update, the dyno operator has agreed to a price of 40.00 for two pulls(more if time allows) with air fuel, this is great deal IMHO. If time allows we will offer more pulls at no additional charge. In my area getting a dyno appointment at all is difficult, and prior to this shop opening, the only shop around was charging 100.00! Here is the contact info Black Sheep Performance
606 Santa Rosa Avenue
Santa Rosa CA, 95404

Thanks, Carl
