Where should I put my front plate?
San Jose cops are dicks bro, they'll find any excuse to pull you over and pop your hood.... I just screwed mine into my bumper to the driver's side. I would've put it in the mouth of the bumper as i seen on other stock FD's but it would've been blocking my FMIC.
^I live rite outside of sanjose now, sssj is my hometown.
I'd never roll through sanjose, exhaust is too loud.
I'll have a license on dec 19th for the guy wondering, I just fucked up on some papers and it'd cost 200 or so to maybe get it now, or free on/past dec 19th.

Ok. Here are a couple of serious answers:
1. You've got an FC right? You can pick up the front plate mounting kit at the dealer for about 20 bucks. It mounts to a couple of bolts hidden underneath the bumper.
2. Where to mount the plate. If you aren't going to mount it in the stock location (via the mounting bracket) then you are still required (in most states) to mount it to the "front" of the vehicle. As far as I can tell the legal definition of the "front" of the vehicle is technically left to the judge and is not defined by law. I had the pleasure of speaking with a judge who left me with this morsel of logic...
Judge - "Son, if the front of your car were to hit another vehicle, what part of your car would hit that vehicle."
ME - "The bumper, I guess".
Judge - "I guess your right, the bumper is the front of your vehicle so that's where the plate should be mounted".

<== Oh wait, there's a pic of one right there.
The stock bracket is an ugly boar-tooth piece of black-primered steel. The license plate bolts in front, and all you see is the license plate and the two bolts (not included with the bracket, btw). Almost none of the bracket shows.

CVC 5200- must be on the front and mounted '
i had to find this out the hard way "got pulled over cause i had it on the dash and funny this is it was my next door neighbor hes a cop for the santa ana police department and he pulled a prank on me cause he saw me riding down main street but he told me that if you dont have it mounted on the front bumper it just gives them an excuse to pull you over and see if your riding dirty.....but FYI i was shitting bricks because the tags on mi caro have been expired since 2005 and i have 2009 on so felony is what they would call it if i were really caught.

You have what are called conflicting goals:
A) You don't want the cops to bust you, since you have no license
B) You don't want to put the plate in the one place (stock location) that will provide minimum risk of (A)
You need to pick one, and suck up the cost of the other.

I'd never put a plate on the dash.
I put it more near the pass side inbetween the rad opening and the brake duct made it so the plate is right below the trim on the bumper
Looks pretty sexy
Oh yeah I just used some screws with a tiny thread pitch? Sorta like wood screws but so the threads arnt spaced apart so much, I yanked on the screws quite a bit before putting the plate on, and did it again, it's not going anywhere.
