Where to get AC fixed NorCal?

Hey all.. something is up with my AC. It does not get cold. I have a power FC, fmic, and was told i have a R134 freeon instead of a R12 that the 93 fds come with. Car is at a rotary shop right now and the guy told me that it works on fan level 1, but because i have this r134 freeon the highside pressure (?) is too high and causes the AC to be cold only on occasion.

Also, is it true that with the power FC the AC only works on setting 1 and 4? Please recommend a shop I can take my car to, summer is coming and I wont be able to live with the heat!!

Thanks for your help!

My car is a 93 and I have a power fc so i know that is the problem there.. I believe there are some fixes posted on the site somewhere but I cant find them. I'm taking my car to Ricks Rotary hopefully friday.. you should give them a call and see if they can help you out

my 89 gtus ran out of freeon. (atleast i think it ran out of freeon. just blows warm air on hot days)
i brought my car over to precision auto tune, they gave me a quote of $350. i didnt have money at the time, and i havent checked any other shops.

PM DJDINO or wackyracer for a/c hook-ups.

I just dropped off my 90 FC to have a custom a/c system put in to work with a V8. They do all kinds of special a/c work and regular stuff too. recharge is less than $100 and if you need a whole new a/c system its around $400/$500...custom is $1200+ (they do alot of hot rod cars but are nice to import cars, unlike some places)
