Where can I get my irons lapped? (socal)

I live in Riverside and was wondering where the closest place to me was to lap my irons for my FD.

dont get your housings lapped, it takes off the nitriting(hardening process from the factory) and your motor will wear 50 times faster!!
your better off finding some original housings in good shape.. save your $$$$$$$$$$

this is the first i have heard of this. The irons arent really that bad, i can feel the grooves that the side seals make with the tips of my fingers, but i cannot hook 'em with my fingernail. Could you elaborate? Is the nitriting process a surface only thing? I would like to see links if you have them? I cannot afford new side housings, and these only have about 75k miles on them.
