you would still need to make a custom air box to keep the hot air out or relocate the air filter outside of the engine bay. K&N drop in is fine for me. mods to the stock air box? maybe...

i had this crazy idea of smoothing out the stock air box and cuting out the silencer in the front snorkle. But that would lead to a waaa sound I think when you accelerate really hard. Smoothing out the stock air box by grinding down the plastic tabs inside the top and bottom maybe even smoothing the airflow to the stock filter. IDK yet im going to buy a grinder and grind it down and see what happens. I have to stock air boxes. its good to have spare parts. Plus i'd also need a way to measure the current airflow with the tabs and the one without.

If I'm not mistaken the Weapon R intake for FC's doesn't come with the piping like the second picture posted. It only comes with what you need for in front of the MAF sensor. I emailed them when they first introduced the secret weapon concentric-pipe intake design and they said at the time it wasn't cost-effective to sell the piping for our cars and they had no plans for developing anything in the future. The S4 kit comes with a plastic MAF adapter and either a SW filter or a Dragon Filter, and the S5 kit comes with what you posted in the first picture.

poo is right..you can make your own C.A.I. that will be better then 90% of any C.A.I. sold now. especially if you can bench test it and such.

Yeah FCs really don't benefit much from air intakes unless you're running pretty wild mods.
