CA Visiting SoCal: Must see places/activities?

Hey guys,

I am heading to Newport Beach, CA tomorrow for a little over a week. I was hoping for some ideas and suggestions of must see places and fun activities while I'm there.

So far, I know I'm gonna check out cars and coffee next Saturday in Irvine. Also I plan to drive Mulholland tomorrow after we arrive. Probably gonna try to do the Universal Studios tour and go to Sea World for my girlfriend. That's all I have planned out for now.

Thoughts?

Melrose Blvd (small shops if you care), Hollywood Blvd and Sunset Blvd for Clubs and Bars, Venice Beach (walk up and down the boardwalk), and around Newport Beach go up or down the coast and enjoy scenery, restaurants and ... traffic.

I didn't even think about stopping by Racing Beat or Mazdatrix, definitely gonna try to do that. Unfortunately I am heading back on Sept 4th so I won't be able to attend the show on the 10th.

We checked out Hollywood Blvd and Sunset Blvd tonight. Keep the suggestions coming, we appreciate it.

Go to Ruby's Diner on the pier in Newport Beach, It's pretty good food and ice cream and you can ask for a window seat for a nice view of the ocean.

Thanks for all the San Diego suggestions! We are heading down there on Friday for the day so we will definitely check some of them out.

Awesome, thanks for the tip. My girlfriend has to eat ice cream once a day so this will come in handy.. damn her and her fast metabolism!

Haha, we are hoping to avoid those areas! Not sure if we will end up doing either theme park.

We were able to check out Mulholland Drive today, the LA Farmer's market and The Grove. Then drove the PCH to Newport Beach and checked into our time share. We are loving SoCal! Might be another FD around these parts soon
