vert rotors same as t2 rotors?

Sorry for not searching but I'm on my phone.

So I went to auto zone to pick up some new rotors for my fronts on my vert.

I got home and they gave me 2 different rotors. 1 is a very close fit. The retaining screws lined up fine but for some reason the screws where a bitch to put back in. I used the exact same screws and it seemed like the threading was off. Which is weird cos the bolts came out fine. Any ways I got 1 in and lined up all flush tthen put the caliper back on and found out the rotor is rubbing on the caliper.

One thing I did notice is the hubs are extreamly clean which leads me to believe they have been recently replaced.

Halp! Any one encounter these problems

No

T2 rotor's are for 4 piston calipers, GXL and T2's are the only one's that can be shared IIRC.

The other model FC's are 2 piston? calipers and use a different rotor.

You should have the 2 piston? calipers hence you need the 2 piston rotors.

Also those little screws aren't necessary.... They were put on by the factory so the rotor's didn't fall off when going down the assembly line...

I have 4 pot calipers up front though? I thought all verts came with those?

They are exactly the same, all verts were 5 lug (4 piston). The retaining screws are practically useless, a lot of people don't even have them anymore.

How this applies to the west? I don't know.

There isn't a west tech =)

But idk why your rotors are all different and stuff... you might want to look into the part numbers and make sure you got what you need

If the screw holes don't line up, you should take them back as obviously something is wrong with the casting.

An for APEX944's benefit, all 5 lug 2nd gens have the same brakes, rotors, calipers, etc. Doesn't matter if it's a TII, NA, or Vert. And I do not agree that the screws are not necessary. They have a purpose. Just be careful NOT to over tighten them.

Heh, learn something new everyday

Not too many FC's around my area so I don't get much of a variety other than T2's or GXL's and never bothered to study any of the other models...

Any reasoning for keeping the screw's for the rotor's other than them being there from the factory?

Just to clarify this. Not ALL 2nd gens have the same brakes. All 86-88 if 5 lug do have the same brakes. But the 89-91 GTU has single piston brakes in front and non vented rotors in rear, even though it is 5 lug s5 GXL, Turbo II and verts do have the 4 piston brakes

I thought you would know that Mr. Hozzman!

haha i got the rotor thing figured out, thats fine and stuff now.

BUT!

the person that had the car before me, decided to "change" the brake fluid. he took a turkey baster, suck what ever fluid he could out with that and poured in new fluid. and thats it. and i noticed the brake pedal was a little mushy

so i bled the brakes today, going in the rr, lf, rf, lf order. and after i was done went and drove it around the block, and the pedal was still a little mushy.

looked in the fsm and discovered that i might need to also bleed the master abs cylinder or some thing like that but 1, the fsm had very vague instructions and 2, i looked around in the engine bay and found no such thing. it said it should be on the passenger side near the fire wall ish. did verts not come with abs?

any one have any ideas on this?

EDIT!

and also how do i drain the reservoir completely? because there is still old fluid in there. and in the lines i wanna drian everything so i can put all new stuff in there. fsm sucks for instrusctions.

idk ive never had so many problems with brakes and such in my lifee!
