V8 conversion shop in socal?

I know some people against it but thinking about going to V8. Due to limited time and space, I want to have a shop drop in the engine. Any idea where to go?

Call Ronin Speedworks as far as I know they do not do swaps in house but they might know someone. Dont worry about the haters.

Probably too far north for you??

This shop may be too far north for you. Eric's V8 conversion starts on page 4 of his build. You can also find the info in his blog.

Where in LA are you? I strongly suggest if you are not doing the swap yourself that you just buy a swapped car. It will be way cheaper in the long run, as long as you get something that was swapped properly.

Short list of what's needed for a basic swap.

Motor +trans
Swap kit + Radiator
Power steering lines
Ac Lines (if you go with AC)
Fuel Fittings
FPR
Dakota Digital
gauge Senders
Drive shaft
Engine wiring service (+AC Wiring)
Misc Wiring components
Battery relocation
Fuel Pump
Clutch Master
Shifter (depends on your trans)
Complete exhaust (+headers if you dont want the stock ones)
Powder coating
Misc Heat Shielding

thank you. I'm located near LA.
I added all the parts and realized my budget has to increase to 10-12k. I would like to buy a finished car but my requirements are very strict so it might be better to do a swap. I'm also giving myself a year to finish the project so I hope I can get it done

I ran the numbers already and including contingency, it's little cheaper to do the conversion. I wouldn't commit to such a big and expensive job without running all the number. It's either rebuild my motor or drop in a V8. I really don't want to spend more later

It's the nickel and diming that kills your budget with these. I guess I didn't realize you already have a car. In that case just swap your car. 10-12k should get you there depending on where you source parts.

I agree. It's always the little thing that's the budget buster and make ppl give on their project. I've been through a rebuild before and didn't want to go through it again. 3k for rebuild motor + 1k broken/incidental parts + 2-3k for upgrade if you want the engine to run safe = 7k. Even with all that money, there's no guarantee how long the rebuilt will last and I might be looking at another expensive rebuild later down the road. With LS swap reliability is there and no need to drop additional 5k for performance upgrade. I love rotary power, sound, and feel but its not worth money

Yeah I think most of the v8 guys have met locally. I don't know anyone in the circle who is doing a pay to swap. The last "semi" reliable race shop that did left for San Diego. Closest person I can think of that might entertain it would be Anthony, but he's busy with his new business. I think if you can spare a few hours a week you'd be able to accomplish the swap with some help from the local tribe.

Exercising will power not to flame the suggestion.

If your heart is set, send a PM Brismo7 for a recommendation. He's well networked in that V8 crowd. He still has my hat.

I did most of my swap myself in my garage. There are kits that make things easy. I did everything but the wiring myself and then just had a custom midpipe made at a fab shop. Look on NoRotors, there's a wealth of info there you can read up on before you decide if it's something you want to do.
