street ported RX-8 engine

so I saw homeboys street port thread I din really read through it ( more like I din have to cuz I know what you guys would have said)

but I did skim over the words RX-8 and street port next to eachother



now Im wondering how much can you port a rennisis without it blowin up? since its already maxed from the factory

an ya I did look ya bastids :P

Dave (R.I.P.) used to port a few Renesis engines with good results. I think he picked up like 10-15hp.

You can bridgeport the RX8 motor.

You will get ~14 HP at the wheels with a streetport on a RX8 motor. Grind out the restrictive exhaust sleeves too.

wellll maybe one of two things


there is a RX-8 motor+tranny down at the local mazda recycling center for hella cheap

1. keep it aroun incase my turbo motor blows
2. Keep the tranny or houseings port them an with my Turbo II ones....wait on 2nd thought that wouldnt work....
