Stopped by cops for NO REASON!
I agree....I've experienced mistreatment from officers when I was younger...and it'll happen again some time in the future (hopefully not). Being an officer is a service job...it's almost inevitable to encounter 'bad customer service.' Keep in mind that one bad apple does not reflect everyone in law enforcement. It’s one of the hardest job and a small percentage of the population is qualified to be an officer.
I believe there are way more good officers than bad.

Agreed, except as it relates to the Chino police department. To serve and to protect......... themselves seems to be their motto.

Chino PD must be smoking cow **** as in Cheech and Chongs's "Up in Smoke'
Chong: mostly Maui Wowie, but it's got some Labrador in it.
Cheech: What's Labrador?
Chong: it's dog ****.
Cheech: huh?
Chong: yea man my dog ate my stash. Had it on the table and the little ************ ate it. So I had to follow him around with a little baggie for about three days before I got it back. Really blew the dog's mind.
Cheech: You mean we're smoking dog **** man?
Chong: Get's ya high though

Easy to understand why anyone that hasn't been through a stop like described might think bs.
But, they do happen. And probably not just in Chino. I've always thought that the head writer of OC had such an experience in Chino, being why he/she chose Chino to be the poster child of bad places to live for the series. Part of why I'm actually a fan of the show.

They seem to always ask that question about drinking. Perhaps to see if anyone would admit to drinking?
I was pulled over a few years ago while speeding on PCH, up Malibu. The officer said that my breath smelled like alcohol. I told the officer that I had a couple glass of root beer with my dinner....the officer made me take a breathalyzer test LOL. Obviously I passed. The officer gave me a ticket for going over the speed limit and that was the end of it.
I thought the whole ordeal was amusing but sort of understood what the officer did what he had to do.

Almost all law enforcement agencies in the southland have stepped up there DUI inforcements. DUI's not only take many lives away from us, they also cost EVERYBODY a lot of money. I am glad we are so hard on DUI's. There have been so many innocent lives lost over the years just because someone didn't have the pride to call a cab or ask for a ride. I am tired of the high insurance costs that we all have and reading in the paper every weekend of another crash where alcohol was involved.

Fu,
That is one opinion that I greatly agree with. Probably one of the hardest things a traffic cop has to deal with is first hand interaction involving traffic deaths.

AND we have to hear the story from both sides, if you really were feeling wronged by them i'm sure you didn't stay that calm for that long. they were just probably frustrated that it wasn't a duck after it quacked like a duck, looked like a duck and walked like a duck. they look for small things, body language, the time it takes for answers to come out, ask you the same question in another way to see if you'll trip up.

With my experience....since I don't have anything to hide....I abide and allow the officer to search my vehicle. Why make things difficult?
doesn't matter if you have something in your car or not. I've had cops search my car and leave it in pieces. Why do I have to spend the time to clean up their mess just because I'm guilty of DWY? I don't know if you guys remember the huge deal with Asian gangs back in the 90's, but that was a bad time to be a young, asian male. I got pulled over just about every single day just to be searched. I'm not saying anything about specific incidents, but those of you that think that we're whining about nothing when things like this happen, haven't had to endure the kind of profiling that some of us have. The next time you get pulled over for going 1 mph over the speed limit and the first thing out of the cop's mouth is "anything illegal in your car?", you can start passing judgement on these stories being BS.

The only time you need a warrant to search a car is if it is parked in a garage or maybe to get into the truck in some instances.
