Their insurance should cover it. If not, then they should pay for it since it was in their possession.
Unless you signed a damage/loss waiver.

I'm out a nice Corbeau A4 black leather seat, but they didn't take the matching passenger seat.

I sincerely hope whoever stole my seats becomes so ill that they'll have amputate his/her arms or legs, preferably both.

well their insurance may only cover vehicles in a certain area and unlike homeowner's policies it usually doesn't cover theft from customer vehicles unless you opt for that additional. i'd have to check my policy and see if i have coverage or not. but i learned the hard way and i hope they aren't leaving vehicles outside. if the building was broken into.. ouch. if they were stored outside then unfotunately i think they should reimburse everyone in labor or parts replacements.

i had one vehicle broken into while it was outside for a few evenings, i took $300 off the bill to cover the stolen parts and replaced the broken passenger window and steering column shroud from my own personal vehicle. i was pissed, but i still was not as pissed as the owner of the car. about a $400 loss and several hours of labor down the drain. not nearly on this level though. (this was in a fenced, locked and barbed wire lot)

i don't take a vehicle unless it will fit inside. it sucks but when you take a vehicle it is for the most part your responsibility regardless if you claim to not be liable.

I don't believe Lucky 7 leaves any valuables outside besides scrap and rollers, I've seen them do some impressive Tetris'ing getting every car to fit inside the shop.

Unfortunately we did get broken into this past weekend. There is a police investigation and they have the surveillance footage and finger prints of the thieves.

The cars affected were cars that were left outside in our gated and locked parking lot along with our truck and trailer. The cars left outside were cars that were done and the customers were notified of the cars being completed and had to be picked up.

We will post more information once we hear back from the investigator.

On the bigger note, the shop is probably a great company, however simply notifying the owners that the cars were done does not relieve them from being responsible for said parts while in their custody.

Not that I'm a lawyer but I know how WE always acted with "overnighters" at the shops I have worked at...we always acted as if WE would assume the responsibility.

Good luck to you for your parts AND good luck to the company. They seems cool...take the jerks down. I hate thiefs.

^ With an investigation in place already, that's a positive. As a customer, I too would want my shop to take full responsibility for any damages including theft to my car while in their custody. That's a given.

Lucky 7 I'm sure is handling things the right way, I don't see any issues arrising from this.

sorry but i doubt anyone would break into a rotary garage to steal a powerFC... come on!

if someone's going to break into a garage like that, they're leaving with turbo's, computers, wheels, suspension, etc. i HIGHLY doubt they'd break into a garage like that and say "hey guys, make sure you get the power fc's"

Just to clarify, they did not break into the shop. They broke into the cars, truck and trailer left in our gated and locked parking lot.
