As for the canyon run goes...I'm all for it but IMHO if we have a group simular to last years it may be kinda rough to keep everyone together. Either way I'm in

I'll say lets have the gathering points. So far its that Arco in Rancho, then the Mobil to meet up before the canyon. I'll try to look up something before heading back onto the freeway tonight.

Gathering point right after the canyon is a park and a good amount of road space on the side for parallel parking. How big do these caravans get?

IIRC, there's a restaurant/office park parking lot on the north side of Lambert (which is what Carbon Canyon turns into after straightening out, in Brea) just east of the 57 on-ramps. Intersection is Lambert @ Wildcat Way. Outback Steakhouse & another (Canyon Creek, I think) restaurant.

Should be pretty much deserted that time on a Saturday.

UPDATE MAP

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...6&ie=UTF8&z=11

Includes the Outback Steakhouse mentioned by DivinDriver as a checkpoint before heading onto the 57.

Also you guys think we should leave earlier now thinking we have to make several stops? In addition, Carbon Canyon should be open right? Don't want to head through a closed road. Only 4 more days

1)Drifter288 - RX7 FD
2) Sarah7 - white FC NA, will join in at mobil station
3) fc3sfrank- white na fc as well
4) zero83- black FC

I'm thinking I'll just be at the mobil at 5:30? If it gets too late, I'll be jamming out because parking will be hell.

During a spirited drive with absolutely no people ahead, the canyon is roughly 7 minutes long. A more chill drive with no slow people is about 15 minutes.

Alright I'll assume everything is clear and heres what I think will be good.

5AM Meet in AMPM
5:30-5:45AM depart
6:30AM Arrive at the mobil
6:50AM End of Carbon Canyon
7:30-7:45AM Arrive at Mazda

I think we'll only need to stop at the mobil to wait for Sarah7 but if its just our small group I think we'll keep together just fine and just head onto the 57 without stopping.

I drive Carbon Canyon home from work every day... It's normally open, gets closed by drivers failing the intelligence test once in a while, or for rare construction projects, or sometimes during heavy rain.

I can let you know Friday evening if it's open, once I get home. The Chino Hills city website also posts closure notices for it.

Some of the other local 7 guys are avoiding our caravan cuz of the canyon run, maybe if we cancel it some more people might be down for the caravan
