well, me and ray made some progress yesterday.....

-we got the front bumper completely mounted and painted flat black
-installed the rear coilovers
-finished the fender rolling job
-ordered the wheel adapters ( 1" in front, 1-3/4"rear)
-went to pick a part for misc parts (got a hood release lever, ecu kickpanel cover, and a plastic piece i was missing)

slowly getting there.... main thing i wanna do is get the volks on the car with the adapters to see where they sit with the fenders.. very ansy for that!

after we started blacking out everything..shes not gonna be red anymore!

after the bumper was installed

Jason checking in. I think I'm going to drop my car off at Lucky 7 to get my idle issue worked out within the next couple weeks. I've replaced every gasket on the intake that I've touched within the last 6 months and still can't find the vacuum leak, assuming thats the problem. If my car is at the shop during next month's meet I'll bring my brother's. I'm nearing the end of my quarter at school so things are hectic right now, so sorry I haven't done my research yet Kevin.

No Jesse I haven't. Do you just spray that stuff near vacuum lines and see if the engine revs up or what?

Johnson, same here man. These quarter systems are fast paced.

yeah.. its the easierst way to find a vacuum leak... let the car idle, and slowly spray carb cleaner around all vacuum lines, and when the engine revs up, theres your leak

ok I will try your zip code thanks. As far as the GXL shell goes, does it have a VIN and what is the zip code that the car is located in?

^well I was talking about two different things sorry. I'm sure you can find a car on craigslist I've been looking for the last week and I have seen a few on there. But the rolling chassie I was talking about is in LA for sure. I know you can find one close to you in Riverside or Mo Val I'm sure.

Everbody check my sig if your intrested in doing a local rally that is rotary only cars. The person planing it is my close friend and roommate. He has worked on the Tv show and the real point-to-point race "Bullrun"

There are three specialized rallys planed so far this year, one envolving 86 Carolla's, Rotary powered vehicals, and one more that I am not at liberty to say as of right now.
But at the very least do a favor and view the thread I started and give me feedback on what you all think.

Thanks

I looked on craigslist and no 89 RX7 coupes no where in LA county. Also the rolling chasis you are talking about in LA is it a 89? That is the key because mine is a 89 coupe and the insurance company will only replace it with another 89 coupe, dumb I know. So if anyone comes across a 89 RX7 coupe (not a convertible, I know there are a lot of those out there) for sale in LA city or LA county please post the link for it, I would really appreciate it.

hey Jesse, glad to see you got another 7. I've been stressin big time with finances so i haven't been coming on here or goin to any meets. So far just this month I have to get my wisdom teeth out ($1150 with insurance ), smog car($$), pay registration ($231), pay my lady's registration ($180) plus all my other bills and my girl wants to get a couch and a new bed. So I won't have money to do anything for at least the next couple months.

It's going to be on the website that's in my sig
spirits-racing. I would wait a few months before you send money because there is a 86 Carolla Rally in April or so. I'll have a update by this weekend.

but found that the bastardo's swapped to a smaller throttle cable, so i need a throttle cable...had to rev it up on the throttle body... so shes running, but not going anywhere just yet! its getting close!!!!!!

Jesse thats great!

I just got back from Rob's house and he fixed me awful idle. We did the carb cleaner test to see if there were any vacuum leaks, and there were surprisingly none. Then we adjusted the TPS and found it was broken, so he gave me a new one and while messing with the TPS, idler screw on the TB, and the lean/rich screw, he has it idling at 900rpm PERFECTLY! Its been months since it idled this well. Thanks Rob!
