DETAILS:
So-Cal RX 2005 Annual Multi-County Road Tour - 4
Event Type: Cruise
Date(s): 4/23/2005 - 4/23/2005
Duration: From 8:00:00 AM Until 5:00:00 PM
Event Location: Ventura County
Ventura, CA
Details: The cruise is back! This is the annual club run through some of Cali most beautiful scenery. Get ready for this 300+ mile odyssey. The run will begin in Ventura County and take us trough Santa Barbara, Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo Counties, culminating back in Ventura County. And if you believe it, this all happens in one day. This is one of those dont miss events, so DONT MISS IT!
The club plans this as a road touring trip, which will essentially start in Thousand Oaks and end in Santa Maria in time for a hearty lunch, but that's only the first of 2 parts.I've also outlined a return route for the truly "hardcore".
Please refer to the information below for detailed route information. Be advised that the actual route is subject to change and is based on prevailing road conditions.
Prepare a copy of this information for your reference. I plan on getting up to date info regarding the status of the roads we'll travel. It is essential that you all plan accordingly for this lengthy road trip. A fair majority of the roads are county maintained, meaning that some of them may vary in texture and in grade.
We'll make a few rest stops along the way.
The majority of the trip will consist of driving through canyons and vast mountain ranges. From LA through Ventura, southern San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties. Some drivers have clocked upwards of 350 to 400 miles on this event. We've adopted the name "Enduro" for this 3rd annual event. 30-40 or so rotary cars out for a spirited road tour is truly something to experience.
Bring your cameras, and other essential items needed for a road trip of this degree. I know that gas prices really suck, but I try not to dwell on it. Sometimes you just have to get out and enjoy the experience of touring on the open road when you can. I hate burning gas in traffic. I'd rather do it out on the open road.
Contact LC for any questions or concerns. LC

I feel that we can add more excitement to this tour IF:
make it a Poker Run. Meaning, each car will get a card at each stop. Whoever got the best cards at the end of the run wins. Say,at the beginning of the run, every one will have to contribute $1. So at the end, you will get a full tank of gas or lunch, or ALL THE BEER YOU CAN DRINK!!

Thanks for the early interest folks. This has always been a SoCal RX Club event and as such we've kindly asked people to bring there RX vehicle out for the tour. There have been a couple non-Rotary/RX vehicles come along our Angeles Crest Crusie and they have kindly brought up the rear Hope that answers your question.

It was Teddy that had the cooling problems because he has a busted-*** FMIC.
So are non-rotard vehicles allowed? LC wasn't too clear.
