slave cylinder fluid??

slave cylinder fluid??

im low on fluid wat kind of fluid does it take Dot3??? Can some one help me out i have to pump up my clutch everytime i drive so kinda suks jsut woundering wat kinda of fluid and i know ima have to bleed my system out too

brake fluid,clutch fluid there both the same and both work just fine...dot3 is fine...**** an't rocket science...

i know there the same just want to make sure im new to rx7 and the motors diff so i tohught they might have a diff fluid to go into it thanks tho

Dude i have used motor oil for the slave but that was an emergency situation...but still didn't do much to the feel of the ped.

^? are you serious about using used oil? damn never would have thought but it worked... But I would flush the system after that. Dot3 brake fluid is what should be used.

I didn't use used oil...I used motor oil...if i remember it was 20-50w...Nothing happened to the system and it work just fine...But for you more picky people who dot your "I's" and cross your "T's" go with dot 3 clutch fluid...

yea you can use different fluid if your in a pinch. i had a friend who used atf before.

you can pretty much use what ever you want... I have used olive oil before, but there are a few reasons brake fluid is used

it doesn't expand when exposed to hi temperatures like other hydraulic fluids might. Doesn't mean there isn't a hydraulic fluid that wouldn't work for the clutch since it doesn't see temps like the brakes produce

it gives a solid pedal feel, where an engine oil would be soft or spongy.

it is easy to bleed the air out of brake fluid.

doesn't breakdown like some other fluids might

it's readily available and some-what inexpensive
